WoW Legion was a paradise for fans that love collecting unique items. In the previous expansion set, Blizzard gave the opportunity to hunt for the legendary equipment. These items not only provided better statistics, but they also guaranteed special effects, which had an impact on your character. These are bonuses that make abilities, spells, and skills of your class somehow stronger or more powerful.
The devil is in the detail, cause in order to balance the game, each character could wear only two legendary items. Are these mechanics still available in the new expansion?
Legendary items and Battle for Azeroth
Blizzard confirmed that the legendary items from Legion expansion will not appear in Battle for Azeroth. This means that the previous equipment will be retained by the players, but in the new zones of Battle for Azeroth you won't find any legendary items.
The developers decided that they didn't want the randomness of the legendary items from Legion in Battle for Azeroth. Instead, they focused on giving players the ability to modify their equipment and let players decide which additional item properties they prefer to use. This motivated Blizzard to introduce Azerite Armor, which should work much better than obtaining legendary items. Hearth of Azeroth is a new type of artifact in form of a necklace which gets empowered by Azerite Power. So when you increase the level of Hearth of Azeroth, you can improve your equipment by unlocking and selecting new skills and talents in selected armor items.
