Crafting in Warhammer Vermintide 2 Warhammer Vermintide 2 Guide and Walkthrough

Last update: 02 August 2018

Crafting in Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is a powerful tool for creating new items or giving them new properties - you can use it by approaching the forge or by pressing the appropriate button shortcut. This page describes all aspects related to crafting.

Item's colors

Game items have five different colors, which affect the amount of properties of the item. These attributes offer, for example, more stamina points, increased attack speed, and more damage to enemies of the selected type.

  1. White color - basic items without any additional attributes
  2. Green color - one feature/attribute
  3. Blue color - two features/attributes
  4. Orange color - two features/ one attributes
  5. Red color - two features with the maximum value, one attribute and a unique illusion (skin)

It's not hard to deduce that the best equipment is red - you can't craft these items yourself. The only way to get them is to open the best chests (red gear can be received from Emperor-class chests available only on "Champion" and "Legend" difficulty levels). Items with a color other than red can be upgraded. Simply go to the "Upgrade item" tab in the crafting menu and place the selected item in the middle - if you have enough scraps, you can improve the item by one color upwards (it will then receive a random property).

Materials used in crafting

During the crafting process, appropriate materials are necessary - they are obtained mainly by melting objects in the "Salvage Items" tab, but sometimes they fall out from the chests. The table below shows which materials are used for which specific crafting options. Also, it provides information from which objects raw materials can be obtained.

Crafting new items

The Craft Item tab allows you to create many new items - Crafting in Warhammer Vermintide 2 - Basics - Warhammer Vermintide 2 Game Guide

The "Craft Item" tab allows you to create many new items. This will give you a white item that can be upgraded later. The first few levels allow you to craft white items. Increase your level to be able to craft even orange items (this requires you to be at a level higher than 20).

Re-Rolling Equipment Properties

The "Re-Roll Equipment Properties" tab allows you to draw completely new items properties. Of course, this option is only available if you have at least a blue weaponry. This lottery requires a sacrifice of one blue dust and one green dust. If you don't like the properties of the item, you can draw new ones until you run out of dust.

Examples of object properties:

  1. Increased stamina
  2. Improved curse resistance
  3. More power against armored enemies
  4. Higher attack speed
  5. Less damage from Skaven enemies

Weapon Illusions

Weapon illusions only affect the appearance of a weapon and do not change its power or properties - it's something like a skin or transmogrification that you can put on a weapon. Item with illusion can be drawn from the lootbox. Then you can go to the "Extract illusion" tab in the crafting menu and remove illusions from the item, and under the "Apply illusions" tab you can apply it to another weapon/armor of your choice (but of the same type, i.e. the illusion from a halberd can only be applied to another halberd).

Note - extracting illusions from the item will lead to its destruction. Taking the illusion off doesn't damage the weapon.
