Enemy Types in Warhammer Martyr Warhammer Inquisitor - Martyr Guide

Although your Inquisitor will face different factions in the Caligari Sector, their (the factions) hierarchy is the same. Warriors from every faction in the game can be divided into types based on their skills and firepower. You can learn the specific enemy type from the information given underneath the enemy health bar.

The enemies can be divided into the following types:

Regular

The most common units in the game. They have zero armor and have an average amount of hit points. This means that defeating those enemies shouldn't pose much problems unless you are doing a side quest, where the enemy forces are overwhelming.

They can be equipped with melee or all sorts of distance weapons.

Horde

This term is used to describe enemies who are part of a larger group. They are small and fast creatures with very few hit points. Although their low damage resistance and humble attack power make them a mere nuisance when fighting them one on one; when they are in a large group, they can pose a real threat.

They are unable of performing any distance attacks, so the best way to defend yourself from horde enemies is to keep your distance. It's also a good idea to use area of effect attacks to eliminate as many enemies as possible at the same time.

Champion

This enemy unit is definitely more powerful than the ones mentioned before. Champions have much more hit points. In addition, they wear armor, which absorbs part of the damage that is being dealt to them.

The Champions attacks are strong. Depending on the type of attack they can perform distance attacks and also engage in melee combat. Their attacks must be avoided at all costs. One possible tactic is to constantly stick close to the Champion's back preventing them from executing attacks in your characters direction.

Commander

This enemy unit is very similar to the Champion. It is just as resilient and is equipped in additional armor, which absorbs damage. In addition, they regenerate while in combat.

Besides standard attacks, Commanders can summon additional enemies to the battlefield. The purpose is to draw your attention from the Commander, who will try to regenerate the missing health while you're fending off foes. That is why you should never focus your firepower on the summoned adds, what's more, they all die anyway if you slay the Commander first.

Elite

The strongest enemy type in the game. Elites have tons of hit points. They also have armor, which regenerates at a moderate speed and makes it almost indestructible.

Elites are huge machines, which attacks can take even half of your total health in a single blow. That's why you have to observe the machines carefully. Every powerful attack is telegraphed in some way. This gives you the chance to perform a dodge. In addition, some of the machines can summon adds, the mechanics here are very similar as described in the Commander enemies part of this guide.
