This page of the guide to Void Bastards contains information on how to find crafting parts faster. Part Locater project is very useful here - the game will mark ships with unique loot.
Go to the Workbench menu and purchase the Part Locater project (see the picture above). This project requires a Glow Bulb - you can either craft it yourself or find on one of the ships.
This unlocks a new tab in the Workbench menu - Locate Mode (see the picture). It highlights two types of projects:
- Projects that haven't been bought yet.
- Projects that have already been bought, but can be improved.
You can choose any of the available projects. However, the best ones are those that will give you a lot of profits (e.g. a blueprint of a new weapon or armor that adds a permanent health bonus).
After that, the parts required for crafting these projects will be marked with arrows on the nebula map. The location with the required part can be immediately visible on the nebula map (example in picture 1) or can be somewhere else. In the latter case, the arrow will be located on the edge of the screen (example in picture 2). This will allow you to easily determine where you have to move.
Once you examine the ship and get the part you want, you can either craft the project or start searching for another part. If the project has been completed, do not forget to activate the Locate Mode and select a new blueprint.
