Trophies and steam achievements in Vampyr Vampyr Guide and Walkthrough

Last update: 05 June 2020

This page contains the list of all achievements available in Vampyr. The PC (Steam) and Xbox One versions have 28 achievements while the PS4 offers 29 trophies (one of them is a platinum type). We have added our commentaries to the descriptions of the trophies to help you unlock them easier. The more challenging trophies have separate pages dedicated to them.

A Taste for Blood

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Complete the game.

Commentary: This trophy is unlocked after beating the main storyline in Vampyr. You don't have to complete the side quests.

Anarchy in the UK

Trophy type: silver - Trophies and steam achievements in Vampyr - Trophy Guide - Vampyr Game Guide

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Reach "hostile" status in one of the districts.

Commentary: Current status of all the four districts in Vampyr can be checked in the pause menu - the picture above shows an example of one of them. To get this trophy you have to make the bar on the left (the "health status") go below 50%. The best way to do that is to kill the unique citizens of a given district. You can also use an alternate way by not giving sick any medicaments and resting a lot (a one in-game day passes). Diseases won't kill the citizens but a spreading disease can lower the health status bar.

Important note - Killing innocent civilians of any of the districts blocks you from getting "Not Even Once" trophy which is unlocked by completing the game without killing any civilians. Think about making backups of your saves if you play on PC or PS4. Remember that when you "lose" a district (this happens when they reach "hostile" status), all of its citizens die (the ones Reid can speak with). This, in turn, blocks you from starting any side quests available in a given area. After completing this trophy you can delete your current save file and upload the previously created backup file. This allows you to protect yourself from a fall of a district and death of its citizens.

At Dawn We Row

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Go on a boat ride with Dr. Swansea.

Commentary: This trophy is unlocked automatically during the first chapter. This takes place shortly after locating William Bishop (the hospital is your destination).

Bloody Roots

Trophy type: gold

How to unlock: Find Paulus Aurelianus' memories.

Commentary: This very complicated trophy requires you to solve one of the puzzles found in Vampyr. The goal is to get access to a secret location under the church located in West End district. There, you can collect a unique sword. This trophy can only be unlocked during the sixth chapter. All the steps should be completed before initiating the fight with The Disaster which also happens in the chapter 6 (this fight blocks you from exploring the world freely!).

During the sixth chapter you meet Usher Talltree who can be found near the aforementioned church in West End. The first thing you have to do is to complete Pandora's Box side quest given to you by the man. Fulfill Usher's wish by not opening the found notebook. Hand over the unopened notebook to Usher and receive a note with four symbols. The puzzle tied to the secret room requires you to guess the correct order of pressing the plates located in the same place where Usher is. Each symbol corresponds to one pressure plate. However, the symbols on Usher's note are generated randomly which means that each player has a different puzzle to solve.

Continue finding other notes (collectibles) scattered around the game world. See which note has a small dot visible above a document (you can view them in the inventory). Only documents with small dots are related to this puzzle and there are 6 of them out of 30 notes available in the game.

Each of the six "special" notes contain two very important hints:

  1. One of the symbols from Usher's note.
  2. From one to six larger dots.

At this point the solution to the puzzle should be obvious to you - find and memorize or write down the symbols in the order starting from one dot and ending on a symbol with six dots. You have to stand on the pressure plates corresponding to the right symbols (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6). This means that you have to press six the plates six times (some of them will be pressed more than once). Unlock the secret area and collect the sword to unlock the trophy.

Bury the Hatchet

How to unlock: Defeat McCullum.

Commentary: McCullum is one of the bosses in Vampyr. This fight takes place during the fifth chapter. Check out the Bosses chapter in our guide to learn how to defeat this enemy.

Interview with the Vampire

Trophy type: silver

Commentary: You can't miss this trophy because it is tied to a meeting with Dorothy Crane which takes place during Vampyr's second chapter. Pick any decision you want.

Just Take a Bite

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Kill Clay during your first meeting with him by sucking his blood.

Commentary: More about this trophy on a separate page.

Keep Your Distance

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Find all ranged weapons.

Commentary: New weapons can be acquired during careful exploration of the world, by defeating certain enemies or by killing certain innocent characters (drinking their blood). The last type of action can block you from getting "Not Even Once" achievement which is received by beating the game without killing any civilians.

Try to get all the ranged weapons during your second playthrough or by making a backup save. The second option can only be done on PC and PS4. Remember that free exploration is only available before you initiate the final fight with The Disaster boss in the sixth chapter. If you are using a backup save then kill all the civilians who carry the missing weapons and then reload your previous save file once the trophy is unlocked.

Londons Burning

Trophy type: gold

How to unlock: All districts have to have "hostile" status.

Commentary: This is an extended version of Anarchy in the UK trophy - check out its description for more details on how to lose districts. Here, your goal is to have all the districts with "hostile" status. Just like in Anarchy in the UK trophy, you should remember about losing access to Not Even Once trophy - try to make a backup save file before you start the process of getting this particular trophy.

Lore Keeper

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Find all the items from the collection.

Commentary: Items from the collection are treated as secrets/collectibles. In Vampyr, these items are notes - this trophy requires you to find all 30 of them. Check out your progress in one of your inventory tabs.

Note - Find all the notes before you start the final battle with The Disaster. You can't go back to exploring the world once this boss is defeated.

Merciful Release

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Spare Clay during your first meeting with him.

Commentary: More about this trophy on a separate page.

Not Even Once

Trophy type: gold

How to unlock: Reach the ending without drinking anyone's blood.

Commentary: This trophy requires you to complete the game without killing any of the innocents. More information can be found on Completion with everyone staying alive chapter. Just to remind you, here are the most important aspects:

  1. Don't drink blood of any of the unique NPCs, that is those who appear in the district screen available in the pause menu (Reid can speak with them).
  2. You can kill vampire hunters and other hostile vampires.
  3. Choose those dialog lines that won't end an NPC's life: let Clay Cox go, spare Dorothy Crane, let Sean Hampton drink your blood, turn Aloysius Dawson into a vampire, don't kill McCullum, heal Dr. Swansea with your blood.

Additional note: Not killing any important NPCs makes the game much harder by getting less XP which is necessary in leveling up and unlocking new vampire abilities. Try to complete each side quest and look for chances to start an investigation. You should also plan spending skill points carefully so you won't waste any of them on useless abilities.

Pest Control

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Eat 10 rats.

Commentary: Rats can be found everywhere. The sense mode (detective mode) can help you find these animals. Approach a rat (they shouldn't run away from Reid) and press the right button/key to drink their blood.

Prepare to Die

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Decide about Aloysius' fate.

Commentary: You can't miss this trophy because it is tied to a meeting with Aloysius Dawson which takes place during Vampyr's fifth chapter. Pick any decision you want.

Sacrificial Lamb

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Decide about Sean's fate.

Commentary: You can't miss this trophy because it is tied to a meeting with Sean Hampton which takes place during Vampyr's third chapter. Pick any decision you want.

Solid Metal Gear

How to unlock: silver

How to unlock: Upgrade a weapon to level 5.

Commentary: This is an extended version of Work in Progress trophy. Try to upgrade your favorite weapon on a regular basis. Upgrading it to level 5 is possible during chapter 4 or 5. You can get crafting materials yourself or you can buy them from merchants after getting enough gold.

Thats Better

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Upgrade a weapon with a module.

Commentary: This is an extended version of Work in Progress trophy. Both of them can be acquired rather easily during the first few hours with the game. After upgrading any of the weapons by using a workbench you will also need to unlock one of the two available modules (requires more crafting materials). Your choice of module doesn't matter.

The Dying Swansea

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Decide about Swansea's fate.

Commentary: You can't miss this trophy because it is tied to a meeting with Dr. Swansea which takes place during Vampyr's sixth chapter. Pick any decision you want.

The Tools of the Profession

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Find all melee weapons.

Commentary: New weapons can be acquired during careful exploration of the world, by defeating certain enemies or by killing certain innocent characters (drinking their blood). The last type of action can block you from getting "Not Even Once" achievement which is received by beating the game without killing any civilians.

Try to get all the melee weapons during your second playthrough or by making a backup save. The second option can only be done on PC and PS4. Remember that free exploration is only available before you initiate the final fight with The Disaster boss in the sixth chapter. If you are using a backup save then kill all the civilians who carry the missing weapons and then reload your previous save file once the trophy is unlocked.

Time is On My Side

Trophy type: platinum

How to unlock: Get all the other trophies.

Commentary: This trophy is unique to the PlayStation 4 version of the game.

Unlife is Strange

Trophy type: silver - Trophies and steam achievements in Vampyr - Trophy Guide - Vampyr Game Guide

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Don't let the plant wither.

Commentary: This plant can be found in Jonathan Reid's office located at the first floor of Pembroke Hospital - see the picture above. Interact with the plant. Your character says that it will wither if it doesn't get any water. The problem is that water can't be found nor bought anywhere.

To water the plant you have to visit West End. This is the last district in Vampyr and you reach it during the fourth chapter. This means that water can be acquired in the second half of the game so don't worry that you may have missed something earlier. You also shouldn't worry about the plant withering - there is no "plant permanent death" option here.

Pure Water can be found in one of the buildings north from West End safehouse. Get the item and go back to Pembroke Hospital to water the plant.

That is not all - you also need to wait for the plant to bloom again. You can go back to the story and return here later or, if you want to get this trophy fast, you can rest three times in a row. Examine the plant after it bloomed to get this trophy.

Unnatural Disaster

Trophy type: gold

How to unlock: Defeat The Disaster.

Commentary: The Disaster is Vampyr's final boss and the fight takes place during the sixth chapter. Check out the Bosses chapter in our guide to learn how to defeat this enemy.

Weapons of Choice

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Find all off-hand weapons.

Commentary: New weapons can be acquired during careful exploration of the world, by defeating certain enemies or by killing certain innocent characters (drinking their blood). The last type of action can block you from getting "Not Even Once" achievement which is received by beating the game without killing any civilians.

Try to get all the off-hand weapons during your second playthrough or by making a backup save. The second option can only be done on PC and PS4. Remember that free exploration is only available before you initiate the final fight with The Disaster boss in the sixth chapter. If you are using a backup save then kill all the civilians who carry the missing weapons and then reload your previous save file once the trophy is unlocked.

Work in Progress

Trophy type: bronze - Trophies and steam achievements in Vampyr - Trophy Guide - Vampyr Game Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Upgrade any of the weapons.

Commentary: This is a very easy trophy which can be easily unlocked at the beginning of the game. Use any of the workbenches - they are in, e.g. every safehouse. Select a weapon and upgrade it with crafting materials. If you don't have them, you can wait until you, e.g. get them through exploration or by dismantling useless items.
