On this page of the Uncharted 4: A Thief's End guide you can find a small FAQ section, which contains answers to the most frequently asked questions. These are various issues, involving choices, endings, unique features of the game, or the multiplayer mode.

Important choices and different endings -are they present in the game?

No, Uncharted 4 is a completely linear game. The main objectives are realized in a few standarized ways, but some stages (e.g. Chapter 12 - At Sea) offer more freedom, at least when it comes to exploration.

The main story of Uncharted 4 has only one ending, which plays out irregardless of how you acted when completing the game.

Treasure - can you miss finding them when completing the game?

Yes and no. Once you explore a particular area and proceed to the next one, the game may not allow you to return to it. Fortunately, there is the Chapter Select option, available from the main menu.

When choosing the chapter, you'll be informed how much treasure you've found and how many more collectibles there are. You can play on any difficulty level, even the lowest one, to reach the missed collectibles faster.

Photo mode - does it appear in the game?

Yes, Uncharted 4 has a Photo Mode. You need to activate it in the options and then press both analog sticks (L3 + R3) during gameplay.

The game may temporarily disable Photo Mode, e.g. during cut-scenes. Photo Mode allows you to freely move the camera, improve sharpness, place filters on the screen, etc.

Crash Bandicoot mini-game record - how to beat?

The first opportunity to play the classic version of Crash Bandicoot appears in Chapter 4 of the campaign (A Normal Life) - Uncharted 4: Mini-FAQ - short questions and short answers - Basics - Uncharted 4: A Thiefs End Game Guide

The first opportunity to play the classic version of Crash Bandicoot appears in Chapter 4 of the campaign (A Normal Life). However, at that moment, you cannot beat the hi-score.

To be able to try again, you need to wait until the epilogue. Only then you can attempt to beat the score - you simply need to complete the level flawlessly. Doing that will unlock a hidden trophy (Best Score!)

PS+ subscription - is it required?

PlayStation Plus subscription isn't required when it comes to the main story, as it was designed with a single player in mind.

The original release of Uncharted 4 has a separate multiplayer mode. To be able to participate in it and unlock some of the online trophies, you need PS+ subscription. The trophies requiring PS+ are listed in our trophy guide.

The Uncharted 4 remaster, which is a part of the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, released on PS5 and PC, doesn't have multiplayer, which was completely removed. This means that you can discover 100% of content and gain 100% of trophies in single player mode.

Knowing Uncharted series - is it required?

No, but nevertheless we recommend completing the first three installments first. The fourth entry in the series tells a new story, but many of the heroes appearing in it appeared in previous installments. Not knowing first three installments may end in you not understanding the relations connecting some of the main heroes of the story.

The first three installments of Uncharted were released for PS4 as a part of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection (you can also play them on PS5 thanks to backwards compatibility). The game was made available for free to PlayStation Plus subscribers in January 2020. Unfortunately, on PC you cannot play the older installments.

Story DLCs for Uncharted 4 - are they available?

Uncharted 4 doesnt have any story DLCS, but a large standalone expansion was released - Uncharted: Lost Legacy - Uncharted 4: Mini-FAQ - short questions and short answers - Basics - Uncharted 4: A Thiefs End Game Guide

Uncharted 4 doesn't have any story DLCS, but a large standalone expansion was released - Uncharted: Lost Legacy. The playable character of the expansion is Chloe Frazer, a hero known from the main installments of Uncharted series. She is supported by two other characters - Nadine Cross and Sam Drake (Nathan Drake's brother)

Uncharted 4 on PS4 Pro - does it look better than on classic PS4?

Yes, the authors of Uncharted 4 prepared a special update for PlayStation 4 Pro users. The PS4 Pro version increases the resolution of both singleplayer (1440p/30fps instead of 1080p/30fps) and multiplayer (1080p/60fps instead of 900p/60fps) portions of the game.

Uncharted 5 - is it in making?

At the moment of updating this guide, there hasn't been any information regarding new installments of Uncharted series. The Naughty Dog studio, which was involved in developing the series from its conception, isn't interested in making new entries in the series. However, we cannot eliminate the possiblity that a different developer under Sony will prepare a new installment, which, as can be expected, will be relased for PS5.
