This page contains the first part of the walkthrough for chapter 17 of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves called Mountaineering. This is one of the chapters taking place high in the Himalayas. Drake must make numerous jumps and reach snow-covered ledges. He will also have the opportunity to find more treasures.

You are finally in the Himalayas. You won't encounter any mercenaries, but that doesn't mean you won't have to fight. The majority of the chapter consists of platforming elements. Run after the mysterious Tibetan to the cave.

After entering it, turn left and go down the snow-covered stone shelves. You will also have to jump over the abyss.

When you reach the larger chasm, Tenzin will use the rope found nearby. Use it to get to the other side and then go down the ladder [secret 1].

Go through the two narrow cracks. Thanks to this, you will reach a place a tent [secret 2]. Jump down to it - Tenzin will get another rope. Use it to continue the journey. Jump towards the rope, swing and join the Tibetan.

You reach an ice tunnel. You have to go over the gap - jump towards the rope attached to the wall on the left and run along the wall to get to the other side.

When you reach the end of the tunnel, you will find yourself in a vast cleft between the mountains. Your companion will run first. Follow him on the narrow rock bridges. Meet with Tenzin to trigger a cut-scene. After that, Drake will hang over the edge.

Pull yourself up and go around the rock. You get to a place where you have to boost your companion. Tenzin will say that he will boost Nathan. When you reach the top shelf, go to the end of it and look to the right. You should be able to spot rock handles on the ice wall - jump in their direction and then move to the left.

After a few more meters, you will reach the ice "stairs" (visible in the photo). Reach the second step [secret 3] and climb the ropes.

Turn 90 degrees to the left and go towards the next stone shelf. Reach the end and jump towards the rock handle on the right wall. The next step is to go down.

You reach another shelf. Jump towards the shaded rock. Then go to the end and press the Triangle button to have Tenzin join you.

He will take out a rope and attach it on the ceiling. Use it to get to the other side of the cliff.
