Defensive Stance

Description: Active block reduces damage received by 60-96%.

Comment: Basic skill for playing as a warrior. The block works when you're holding the right mouse button. Each blocked attack additionally allows for counterattack (if you have unlocked the skill), thus block becomes essential in every battle.

Comment: You can use it only with single-handed weapon, which does not fully makes this skill useful.

Defensive Thrust - Warrior skills | Character development - Character development - Two Worlds II Game Guide

Defensive Thrust

Description: Use your shield or polearm to knock back the enemy with a 10-100% damage bonus.

Comment: A little useful skill, especially at the beginning, when you want to knock back the enemy to be able to easily escape. Skill requires specific type of weapon (or a shield), that restrict the use of other types of weapons.

Radial Barrage - Warrior skills | Character development - Character development - Two Worlds II Game Guide

Radial Barrage

Blunt Force - Warrior skills | Character development - Character development - Two Worlds II Game Guide

Blunt Force

Description: Restricted to maces only. Massive blow to the head with a 30-75% chance to stun the target for 9s.

Shield Pull

Block Breaker - Warrior skills | Character development - Character development - Two Worlds II Game Guide

Block Breaker

Humbling Blow

Description: 6-60% chance of knocking an enemy to the ground, leaving your opponent defenseless to a devastating blow with a sword or polearm. Effective only on humanoids.

What is worth investing

Basic skills, which are worth investing in apart from the weapon you are going to use, are Defensive Stance and Block Breaker. These skills provide you with a block and allow you to inflict damage on enemies who are currently blocking themselves. Retribution fits perfectly with Defensive Stance - when you are attacked, make a counterattack which may result in a special maneuver. I suggest leaving this skill for the further part of the game. Battle Cry is a good solution for any type of fight, as besides extra damage you also get a chance to stun all nearby enemies. Humbling Blow, due to the fact of working only against humanoid enemies, is not a very helpful skill. Even the fact of having a chance to kill a lying enemy in one blow does not make the skill worth developing. Because most of the enemies in the game do not use shields, Shield Pull is completely useless. The skill only reduces the enemy defense and you can do using other skills, like Block Breaker.

The choice of other skills depends on the type of fight that you want to take.

Single-handed weapons: Fighting with only one weapon is not the best choice, helpful skill are Dirty Trick, which allows you to blind the enemy - this gives you some free time. From time to time you can pull out the torch and use Fire Strike to launch a fire attack - works best against mummies. Defensive Thrust is useful at the beginning, for example, if you want to run away from your opponent (shield or polearm is required). Similarly with Blunt Force, which requires a mace. The only skill worth investing in is Thrust Strike, although it works only on single target, it is characterized by a large damage bonus.

Two single-handed weapons: I strongly recommend this option more than using a single weapon or a weapon + shield. It is perfect to mix two weapons that deal both bludgeoning and smashing damages.

Two-handed weapons: The biggest advantage is of course the possibility to attack multiple enemies at once - even without Radial Barrage skill. Although, the skill at the highest level gives only 50% more damage, it is perfect when you get surrounded.
