On this page of the Tunic guide, you will learn the shield's location and how to find it. Obtaining it is necessary if you want to defend yourself against enemy attacks.

You need the sword to find the shield. We explain how to find it on the page: Sword - how to find it?.

Return to the first shrine in the game, located in Overworld. Then go to the left of it, go down the stairs and then across the bridge. Now cut down the bushes blocking your path, and you will reach a mill. Right in front of it, there is a ladder that you have to use to go down.

Now, you have an area filled with enemies in front of you, and on your left is the closed Old House. You have to get inside, so it's time to find the key. So make your way to the opposite side of the location (you can choose whether you want to do it by sneaking or fighting), and you will find the descent near a small waterfall.

Do not go to the other side of the stream or through the mysterious passage - just follow the stone path and turn left. You will find a group of enemies and stairs that you have to go down.

You should now have a powerful opponent in front of you of Envoy type. It is standing on the key you are looking for. You have two options - either defeat him (which is quite difficult at this stage of the game) or steal the key under his nose (which we strongly suggest you do). After picking up the item, return to the house and go inside. Gather everything you can find in it, then squeeze through the narrow hidden passage in the wall to the left of the exit. Now all you have to do is go through the tunnel, and you will end up in the room with the shield.
