Does The Division 2 have matchmaking options? The Division 2 guide, tips

Last update: 19 March 2019

Following that Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is an online game that sees the matches of 4-man and 8-man groups of players, finding allies to play with is a basic problem, as not all players have a pre-made team with whom they can enjoy the multiplayer features of the game. Fortunately, those less fortunate can utilize the matchmaking system, described in detail in this chapter.

Matchmaking mechanic is a standard feature of any MMORPG game, but it also appears in other titles that involve coop gameplay and exploration. The same applies to The Division 2 - the game contains a matchmaking option and you can easily use it to find players.

You can activate the matchmaking feature in two ways:

  • Open the map, choose the tab with the activity you're interested in, and activate the matchmaking feature to find suitable and eager allies.
  • Visit any hideout, base of operations, or village and find a special matchmaking computer - you can easily locate it on the map. Once activated, it opens up the same menu that is available from the world map, allowing you to join up with other players.

The matchmaking system in The Division 2 is fast and matches players based on their experience level - it will never join you up with someone who is 5 levels below your character. The system is very efficient - most of the time, it takes up a few seconds to find players.

Note - when you find a team, a button will appear on the screen that allows you to teleport to their location. This comes to be useful when completing missions which locations you haven't visited yet - you can save a lot of time thanks to this option.
