While playing Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege, you can use a variety of shooting techniques that can improve your accuracy and effectiveness, sharpen your reflexes and create a muscle memory. In this chapter, you will find information that might improve your shooting skills.

Single shots

Single shots are usually used from longer distances in order to achieve maximum control of the weapon. By using this technique, you should use one or two shots in a series and then make a short break to fix the position of the crosshair or to pick a new target. During the break, you can make a step to the side and perform another shot. This technique requires some training, control and a good hand - the shots must be performed from a single spot, after performing the zoning. The greatest advantages of this type of shooting are:

  1. Low ammunition consumption.
  2. High mobility.
  3. Complete reduction of weapon recoil.
  4. Maximum control over the weapon.

Short series

Using short series is probably the most frequently used technique, especially by the beginners. Shooting with short series means shooting from 3 to 7 bullets and then making a break to fix the position of the crosshair or changing the shooting position. This technique is best on medium and close distance. While using this technique, you must remember to fix the position of the crosshair by moving the rifle to the down. Without this, the bullets might not fly in the required direction. To achieve the maximum control of the weapon, you should shoot while standing in one place. The advantages of short series are:

  1. Medium ammunition consumption.
  2. High mobility.
  3. High accuracy.
  4. A short series might be lethal if you hit enemy's head.

Long series

The most rarely used technique that is effective only in very close combat, when you have no time to aim properly. This technique focuses on keeping a constant fire until the magazine is empty. Shooting with such long series requires you to constantly fix the position of your crosshair. During a team assault, it might cause you to accidentally shoot your ally. Due to the much lesser accuracy and effectiveness than the other two techniques, long series aren't recommended for beginners. The advantages of this technique are:

  1. The possibility to quickly eliminate a few targets at once in a close combat.
  2. Long series can be useful while shooting through a smoke where your visibility is limited and where you think the enemy might be on the other side.
