Movements in Rainbow Six Siege Rainbow Six Siege Guide and Walkthrough

Last update: 02 July 2018

Effective movement through the map is a very important matter in Tom Clancys Rainbow Six: Siege - Movements in Rainbow Six Siege - Gameplay - Rainbow Six Siege Game Guide

Effective movement through the map is a very important matter in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege. In the game, the matches are short and time is working against the attackers, so they must quickly reach the protected building and eliminate selected targets. What's more, it's much harder to hit a target that is constantly moving, so standing in one place and waiting for the enemy isn't always the best choice. This chapter features information that will increase your chance for survival on the battlefield.

Zoning

Zoning is very useful in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege, for example, when you must lean from a corner and immediately shoot, but you can't get the proper angle for the shoot with the normal switch of weapon position. Zoning is constantly moving to the sides or in a circle (when you're in a very close contact) while shooting. Zoning means also positioning yourself behind a wall or other terrain obstacle and moving the operator to the right or the left side and then immediately returning to the previous position.

  1. Zoning enables you to remain in constant motion while shooting.
  2. Zoning enables you to quickly check a room by leaning out and immediately returning to the previous position.
  3. Zoning makes it harder for your enemies to hit you.

Rope climbing

Climbing is a useful technique available in Tom Clancys Rainbow Six: Siege - Movements in Rainbow Six Siege - Gameplay - Rainbow Six Siege Game Guide

Climbing is a useful technique available in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege. It is used by the attacking team and it enables the attackers to quickly reach the roof of the building or to hang on the rope on the level of the window and get a good shooting position without the need of assaulting the building. You must remember that grappling hook cannot be used everywhere. What's interesting, while on the rope, the player has complete control of the operator - it is possible to shoot, break barricades, use drones and throw grenades.

  1. Climbing a building wall causes an alarming sound.
  2. While dropping from a rope, you can change the position of the operator - he can swing with his head down, giving you proper view angle for example to check the area under the window for traps.
  3. While attempting to enter the room through a window, the operator will first have to gain a momentum by bouncing from the rope and jumping into the room.

Crouching and crawling

In Tom Clancys Rainbow Six: Siege, the player can move by crouching and by crawling - Movements in Rainbow Six Siege - Gameplay - Rainbow Six Siege Game Guide

In Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege, the player can move by crouching and by crawling. This enables the player to hide behind obstacles like a counter. Crawling is very useful, for example, when there is a hole in the wall or a ventilation shaft where you can see running enemies and hit them with a few accurate shots.

  1. A crouching or crawling operator is much less visible than a standing one.
  2. Crouching is useful when you can shoot from behind a cover.
  3. Lying position enables you to set a defensive position and check cameras or use the drone.
  4. The icon below, on the left side, informs the player about the position of the operator.

Getting through obstacles while in full run

Another very useful movement technique in Tom Clancys Rainbow Six: Siege is the option to get through obstacles while running - Movements in Rainbow Six Siege - Gameplay - Rainbow Six Siege Game Guide

Another very useful movement technique in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege is the option to get through obstacles while running. During the game, you won't always have enough time to carefully run around all obstacles. Sometimes the situation will require immediate reaction and, for example, to move to the other side of the building. You won't have time to run around the obstacles and quietly move to surprise the enemy. It is worth remembering that if you run to an obstacle like a bar counter or a sofa, by using correct button you can quickly jump over it and continue the attack.

  1. The option to jump over an obstacle enables you to continue quickly an attack.
  2. Jumping over obstacles also enables to evacuate quickly from a room in which you are fighting at a disadvantage.
  3. By jumping over an obstacle, you can quickly hide behind it and, for example, reload a weapon.
