Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. - Pilot - The best choice - recommendation - Classes - Titanfall - Game Guide and Walkthrough
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

Upon reaching the required level every Pilot can prepare up to 5 own classes, which can then be used in combat. It is very useful to have several sets prepared for different situations. This introduces another level of smoothness into the gameplay, allowing you to quickly adjust your play style whenever the situation changes. Below, there are descriptions of 5 recommended "types" of Pilots, suited for various play styles and game modes. Of course, the combinations given below are subjective choice of the author, so if you want to combine loadouts with different abilities and kits than the ones proposed, feel free to do so.

Universal set

This set should prove effective in any situation, though it is perfect at none. With thus prepared Pilot you can effectively play either offensively or defensively in any game mode you like.

Primary weapon: R-101C Carbine

Well, when it comes to universality, this carbine is the best choice. Available from the very start, it often becomes many Pilots' favorite - some never switch it to anything else. Fully automatic, suited for any distance, deals proper damage - shortly speaking: a very good gun.

Side weapon: Any

You will only use this weapon when you run out of carbine bullets, so it does not really matter what you choose.

Anti-Titan weapon: Archer Heavy Rocket

A powerful weapon against Titans, it takes a moment to lock on an enemy. Allows you to deal fairly high damage without exposing yourself too much (it is necessary to change your position after almost every shot).

Ability: Stim

The choice of ability depends on the game mode. Generally speaking, I recommend Stim, however, if you feel like using cloaking ability, this may prove useful too. I suggest to leave sonar for another occasion.

Heavy weapon: Arc or Frag Grenades

You should absolutely take grenades. After all, most of the time you will be attacking, so these should prove much more useful than mines or satchel charges.

Kit 1: Power Cell

Enables you to quickly regenerate your ability, which proves extremely useful in some circumstances, as for example, while running away with flag.

Kit 2: Minion Detector or Dome-Shield Battery

The former is mostly useful when you want to improve your score, e.g. in Attrition mode. Dome-Shield Battery will improve the protection for your Titan right after it is dropped down on the battlefield, by extending the duration of its protective shield. Since satchel charges are not recommended as the heavy weapon choice, also the Dead Man's Trigger kit is of no use here.

Quick Assassin

This set is recommended for players who keep moving around. They do not seek for enemies - they just jump into them and mostly fight them at close range.

Primary weapon: R-97 Compact SMG or C.A.R. SMG

You should obviously choose a swift SMG, which will allow you to shower your opponent with bullets. Spitfire LMG is another valid option.

Side weapon: RE-45 AutoPistol

Once you run out of ammo to your primary weapon, you can continue the fire with this automatic gun.

Anti-Titan weapon: Sidewinder or Mag Launcher

Here the choice is limited to a weapon that does not require prior charging or locking on the enemy.

Ability: Stim or Active Radar Pulse

Stim allows you to run more quickly, which seems to be a little bit better choice than Active Radar Pulse, which in turn, would give you a certain advantage indoors, where fight most of the time.

Heavy weapon: Arc or Frag Grenades

Take grenades, of course - these will allow you to play more aggressively.

Kit 1: Run N Gun Kit

An obvious choice. This will allow you to shoot SMG and pistols while sprinting. If, though, you chose Spitfire LMG as your primary weapon, this kit will be useless - in that case it is better to choose Enhanced Parkour Kit.

Kit 2: any

None of the remaining sets would significantly support this play style. Warpfall Transmitter may prove to be a good choice, as it enables you to quickly deploy and jump into a Titan.

Silent Assassin

This set is perfect for players who prefer staying "in the shadows" somewhere on the side and attack careless opponents.

Primary weapon: Smart Pistol MK5

The choice is obvious - this intelligent pistol allows you to kill unaware enemies with just one pull of the trigger. Of course, the suppressor is essential.

Side weapon: any

You will not be firing the primary weapon too often, so you should not run out of bullets. Choose whatever you like.

Anti-Titan weapon: Sidewinder

This weapon reloads fast and does not warn the enemy Titan that it is being locked-on.

ability: Cloak

Needless to say, cloaking device proves essential in countless situation, so this set is simply obligatory.

Heavy weapon: Satchel Charge or Arc Mine

If you plan to remain unseen for as long as possible, it is much better to use satchel charges and mines than grenades.

Kit 1: Stealth Kit

This kit makes you inaudible, and, while using cloaking device, makes fumes from your jetpack invisible.

Kit 2: Dead Man's Trigger

All the satchel charges and mines you have planted are triggered on your death.

Defender

This set is designed for Pilots who like to play defensively. Still, you need to have something to defend, so this set will prove useful mostly in Hardpoint or Capture The Flag modes.

Primary weapon: Spitfire LMG or Eva-8 Shotgun

Spitfire LMG works in close encounters - and this is exactly the most common scenario for defensive Pilots. Shotgun may also prove its worth, especially in rooms.

Side weapon: B3 Wingman

Very powerful and quite accurate revolver - useful in critical situations.

Anti-Titan weapon: Charge Rifle

A perfect weapon for the defender - very powerful, although it requires to be fully charged before firing a shot. Right before it is charged, make sure that the enemy Titan is in your sight.

Ability: Active Radar Pulse

Allows you to see enemies before they appear next to your flag or a capture point in Hardpoint mode.

Heavy weapon: Arc Mine or Satchel Charge

An obligatory equipment. Useful for mining the surroundings of your flag or strategic locations.

Kit 1: Explosives Pack

Increases the number of mines or satchel charges you can carry, thus allowing you to expand the radius of the blast.

Kit 2: Dead Man's Trigger

All the satchel charges and mines you have planted are triggered on your death.

Sniper

Playing as sniper is not very popular in Titanfall, though obviously possible. Handling a sniper rifle skillfully requires a lot of training, however, it can be very beneficial in some situations.

Primary weapon: Longbow DMR-Sniper or Kraber-AP Sniper

If this is your first time playing as a sniper, the former weapon is a better choice, as it allows you to fire more quickly. Kraber requires you to hit your target with the first shot, otherwise your enemy will manage to escape or spot you. Pilots usually go down with one hit (although not always, e.g. using the suppressor may make it necessary to repeat the shot).

Side weapon: any

Most likely you will have no opportunity to use this, so choose whatever you please.

Anti-Titan weapon: Sidewinder

This will work best, since, as you are usually staying on elevated positions, you are hard to locate by opponents, and the enemy Titan will not be warned that it is being locked-on.

Ability: Active Radar Pulse

This allows you to prepare yourself for the shot by turning your focus toward the place where the opponent is going to come from.

Heavy weapon: Arc Mines

Mines are perfect. You should plant them in some place that leads directly to your position.

Kit 1: Stealth Kit

This allows you to move around quietly, so you will not by accidentally overheard.

Kit 2: Guardian Chip

Most often your Titan will be controlled by AI, so using this kit will improve its effectiveness.
