Proper development of a beaver settlement in Timberborn requires familiarizing yourself with available types of materials and buildings. On this page of the guide, we explain how to start building your first colony step by step and which objects to put up first. We suggest what to pay attention to and which raw materials are essential for survival.

Basic resources

In Timberborn, there are 3 basic resources that will be necessary for the survival of your colony:

  1. water,
  2. food (in the beginning it may be blueberries and carrots),
  3. logs.

When you keep the production of these 3 things at a decent level, you can start developing your beaver settlement.

Before the first drought, you should also build a farm and plant carrots.

Residential buildings

The next priority for your colony should be houses. In the Iron Teeth faction, houses are only required for the overall satisfaction score of the colony. Folktails, however, need houses to reproduce.

Production buildings will require workers. To ensure that you don't run out of adult beavers capable of working, we recommend that you build an adequate number of houses as soon as you survive the first drought.

Besides logs, the basic building material is planks. Planks are produced in a Lumber mill, which requires power. At the beginning of the game, you will generate the most power with the water wheel. When you produce enough planks, immediately place a Forester building and plant trees. That way you won't run out of logs when you cut down all the trees within range of your settlement.

Also put up farms and plant crops as soon as possible. Remember that some vegetables are immediately suitable for consumption, while others will need to be cooked in the appropriate buildings.
