Rivia | Story Battles in Thronebreaker The Witcher Tales Thronebreaker Guide and Walkthrough

Last update: 15 November 2018

In this chapter, you will find a description of the story battles in which you will have to take part while travelling through Rivia in the Thronebreaker: Witcher Tales game. A video, which shows an example of how victory over the enemy troops can be achieved, has been added to each description.

The siege of Kaveldun

Over the course of this fight, you have to win only one round. At the very beginning, the opponent has a Palisade in the first row, which will strengthen a random ally unit every turn. It is best to focus on attacking your opponent's units and getting more points than him. There is no point in losing strength by attacking the Castle Gates in the palisade.

The siege of Tuzla

In this fight, you also have to win just one round. Similarly, as in the case of the previous siege fights, the opponent has a Palisade in the first row. During the fight, focus on eliminating enemy units to gain a point advantage.

The upper keep

The last and greatest battle in Rivia in which you will have to face a Nilfgaardian General, Ardal aep Dahy. The battle you are going to fight will be quite different from all previous skirmishes. The general has as many as 100 cards in his deck and additional units on the board. What is more, each hostile unit killed on the board will be immediately replaced by another random unit from the enemy deck. The general can also reveal a random card from your and his own deck. If his card has more strength points, he will empower a unit on the board by as many as 10 points. You need to prepare for a long fight and put units in the deck that will be able to create a very substantial point advantage. Passive units are a good choice, you do not want cards that do a lot of damage up front, since you want to avoid eliminating hostile units, lowering their health and power is all you should aim at doing.
