Promptly at 8:00 p.m. the screen disappears and night falls. Life from dusk till dawn is quite different than during the day. You lose control over your hideout, instead you can see city map and plan your next moves. As one can easily guess, supplies from the hideout will not last for long and you can't allow yourself for a moment of peace. You must stand against the fate and prepare a counterassault.

During the first night you won't have much places to visit - a few houses, shopping mall or a garage. At the left side of the screen you can see bookmarks that represent your group members. There you can decide what specific character will do during the next few hours. Game mechanics force you to send to the city not more than one person while two other wait in the hideout. It's best to send someone with the highest capacity (number near the orange backpack shows the amount of slots available), who is also healthy, rested and not under the influence of any stimulants. What's the point of sending someone who would rather sleep on the ground than do his work? Since you know who to send, it's time to decide where should he go. After clicking on a place you can see specific information about it - what items can you find there, are there other survivors or - what is worse - some real threats. Rest of your team should be send to do something as well, although you don't have too much options to choose from.

They can go to sleep (on the ground or in the bed) or be on the watch. There should always be someone watching, otherwise you can be attacked by bandits. It would be best to send both of remaining characters to watch, although it's not always the best choice. If you do that, the next day every member of your group will be tired and less effective. You can send them to sleep during the day (a few hours are enough to remove negative status), but at the beginning of the game you won't have enough beds for everyone. What's more important, when everyone will sleep, there won't be a single person left for work. And there is a lot to do.

Another thing to worry about are illness and injuries, which disqualify a person from being a night guard. A weakened guardian won't be too useful for you and, in case of an attack, he can die more easily. Taking all those factors into mind, it's best to send to the city a character that is rested and has the highest capacity, put another rested one on watch (if you have some weapon in your inventory or had build board up or enforced doors then a single guard should be enough) and allow the weakest one to have some sleep. Even if all your group members are in perfect condition, one of them should sleep so he could work the next day while others will sleep. As it was said before - time is of the essence and can decide of life and death.
