The chapter starts with a conversation with a stranger, who seems to have a problem with you and is very much displeased with the fact that you are entering the office out of line.

If you do not want to worsen your relationship with the man any further, the best option seems to be "I work here".
When you enter Crane's office, you will learn that Snow has revealed the matter, regardless of your previous advice. Crane seems to be angry that she did not do that earlier or that she did not find a better way to do that. You can cut into the conversation or say nothing.

Crane asks you who is your main suspect, then he leaves the office to get his massage.
Bufkin reveals himself and asks you how was your day. If you say "I'm not great" Bufkin will remember that, and then he will fly off to look for the books you need.
When you get to control the character again you may look around the office, where you can find the Lamp, and the Magic Mirror. Do not start a conversation with the mirror yet. Instead, walk toward a desk to find a Tarot Deck. You can pick one of the cards (needed for an interaction with the Magic Mirror). Return to the mirror and start a conversation.
The mirror has the power to see what other Fables are doing at the moment. The person of interest is "I don't know her name" - until you have learned her real name, the mirror cannot show you anything. If you have collected the tarot card, you can use it on the mirror. When the conversation with the mirror is finished, Bufkin will come flying with the books.
On the right side of the room, you will see two books laying on the table: Book of Fables and Book of Symbols. In the Book of Symbols you can find the same sign as on the signet ring collected earlier. In the Book of Fables, on the other hand, you will find all members of the Fables community along with the person of your interest with the symbol on his garment.
With Bufkin's help you will learn that the murdered woman's name was Faith and that she came from a prominent family. Go back to the mirror and ask about the newly recognized people. When you pick "Prince Lawrence" option, you will notice that your main suspect may be in serious trouble (a bloodied knife). When you finish the conversation with the mirror, head toward the office exit. This will be interrupted by a call from Mr. Toad, who has some troubles too.
