Step 11: Save yourself from being executed
During the conversation with Henselt you will have a flashback (Returning Memories). You can talk with Dandelion about the vision to learn a bit about Triss - once she was magically locked inside a strange statuette. You will be sentenced to die, but Roche will save you in the last moment.
Vanhemar is a sorcerer, so he has a few tricks up his sleeve. Above all he's very proficient with signs - you have to look out for Igni. From time to time he will throw Quen on himself - there's no sense attacking him then. What's more important, he likes teleporting. Focus mainly on him and leave the soldiers for later. Use quick attacks to quickly get to him and remember about using Quen yourself. Once you get rid of the mage, help Roche and Ves in eliminating the soldiers. Depending on the choice you made during Royal Blood in Step 4, there are two possible ways of ending the mission:
- Stennis survived, you have to get Henselt's blood. Description in Step 12, Option A.
- Stennis is dead, Roche will lead you out of the camp. Description in Step 12, Option B.
Notice! Before moving on, it's worth to take a look around the camp and the tents, you can find the Song of the Hunt and Ambassador Shilard Fitz-Desterlen's first letter to the Emperor by doing so.
Step 12, Option A: Reach Henselt's tent with Roche's help
If Stennis is alive, you still need to get the royal blood. Roche will draw away the guards' attention, while you hide behind the left tent or behind the barrels on the right (M19, 12).
Move further to the right, behind the central tent. You will find some more barrels there (M19, 13). You can use Aard or Igni on them, to draw the guards away from the main gate. That way you will be able to enter Henselt's tent without being disturbed by anyone (M19, 14).
After a short conversation, Henselt will give you a vial of his blood. You will be escorted outside the camp by a soldier, so no one will attack you.

Step 12, Option B: Escape the Kaedweni camp with Roche's help
If Stennis is dead, you have to get through the camp - Roche will propose to deceive everyone and pretend you're a prisoner. You just have to look out for the commanders. Just try to move forward without stopping, until you reach the main gate (M19, 6)

Step 13: Talk to Philippa Eilhart
After leaving the camp, talk with Philippa Eilhart (M19, 15) to report what you've learned about Triss.
Step 14: Return to Vergen through the mist and talk to Philippa
Once again you will have to through the Mist. The owl will be beside your back and you will be attacked twice by Wraiths and Draugirs who will stun Philippa again. Slowly move towards Vergen (M14, 1). After reaching the city, talk with the sorceress (M15, 14). It will turn out that Cynthia managed to escape, but she left behind the rose of remembrance.
