Last update: 07 April 2022

The most important change introduced by The Sims 4: Seasons is of course the changing weather. Depending on the season, you will see different atmospheric phenomena affecting the mood of the Sims, their behavior and possible interactions.

This page covers the following topics:

What are the differences between the seasons?

In the spring and summer, you will see only visual changes, but autumn and winter offer new activities. In autumn, you can remove leaves in your garden. In winter, you can use a shovel to remove snow, make a snowman, make a snow angel, or participate in a snowball fight with another Sim.

How does the weather affect the Sims?

The current weather has a much bigger impact on Sims. Depending on the weather conditions, the Sims can fall into a different mood and perform other activities.

  1. Rain - Sims don't like to get wet and can get sick quickly, so remember to use an umbrella. However, you can sometimes let yourself be a little crazy and allow your Sims to dance in the rain or throw mud.
  2. Storms - being outside during a thunderstorm is not a good idea. Your Sim can be hit by lightning - this will lead to his death.
  3. Blizzard - Sims can fall due to strong wind. The temperature gets reduced significantly which may lead to a Sim's death. Buy a thermostat to change the temperature at home and warm your Sims.
  4. Heatwave - a heatwave is as dangerous as a snowstorm. High temperatures cause malaise and may even lead to death. Use a thermostat to lower the temperature in your home or use the pool to cool a Sim.

How to change the weather?

Change the weather if the current one doesnt suit you - The Sims 4 Seasons: Seasons and weather - how to change, differences - The Sims 4: Seasons - Sims 4 Guide

Change the weather if the current one doesn't suit you. To do this, you have to buy the Dr. June's Weather Control Device in the "Activities and Skills" tab. At the beginning, you have the following options to choose from:

  1. Clear skies
  2. Thunderstorm
  3. Rain
  4. Hot
  5. Heatwave
  6. Cloudy skies
  7. Cold
  8. Snow

However, remember that a Sim needs to have a high level of Handiness skill - that Sim can get electrocuted if something goes wrong.

Dr. June's Weather Control Device can be upgraded - this requires the right level of Handiness and upgrade parts (you can buy them using a computer). This table contains names of those upgrades and the required level of Handiness:
