The handle is at the end of a side corridor

Dismount Trico. Find a ladder on the left, and pass through a narrow corridor to find a handle. Pull the handle, and don't let go until Trico passes underneath the gate. Return to the closed gate, and cross through one of the holes.

Catch Trico's tail in the last phase of the drop

You should reach a corridor missing some elements of the floor. Take a look at interactive ledges found on the right side. Begin crossing through the ledge, hanging down from it if necessary. Ultimately, you have to reach a small wooden beam, sticking out from the wall. Either descend from it right away, or wait until its breaks underneath the boy's weight. Watch out - you'll begin to fall. In the final phase of the flight, you'll need to catch Trico (he managed to get across to the lower level of the ruins by himself). Be ready to press Triangle, so the boy avoids dying as a result of this "controlled" fall.

The new corridor contains a huge cauldron which emits blue fumes - shown on screenshot 1. Start pushing the cauldron along the tracks and do it until you reach the end of the rails. (The track is turned to the right). Return to Trico IMMEDIATELY. Climb onto his back and jump to the bridge from screenshot 2. Do it before the cauldron rolls down again, forcing Trico to move a few steps back.

Push the cauldron along the new route until you fall into a flooded cave

You can now choose the side corridor, which will lead you to a lever connected to a track switch. Once you use it, return to the huge cauldron with fumes and start moving it again. This time, you'll push along a straight line. Continue pushing until a part of the floor will fall apart, and you'll fall into a partially flooded cave.

Find a huge chest in the cave, and push it into the water. Start swimming, and continue pushing the floating chest. Move it to the other end of the submerged cave. Now, call Trico, who will crumble the other part of the ceiling, and stick out his tail (screenshot above). Climb onto the floating chest, make a leap for Trico's tail, and get onto his back.

You can now ask Trico to move to the next area. After some time, you'll reach a hall with a gigantic dome.
