You come back to New York, but because of Aldo Trapani's death, the city is now what it used to be. While still on the plane, Michael entrusts you with the role of the new Don and a mission to take over the city. Although as a Don, you will have to start with small beatings and harassments.

After the cut scenes, talk to Frank, who's in the same room as you [029].

Objective: Recruit a soldier for your family

It's time to choose a comrade who will help you in achieving your goal. In the nearby room you can choose an arsonist or a medic [030]. During the talk with a soldier you can ask him about his experience and speciality (it works the same throughout the whole game). Choose wisely, because you will have to take over the whole city with your team. After asking about the speciality, a window with info on the character, the speciality itself and gun level will appear. I would suggest you take the arsonist; the medic isn't as useful so early in the game.

Objective: Break Carmine's crime ring. Take over the Sweet Life Bakery

Before getting out of the Corleone Compound, talk to Michael and the others once more. Get into the car, your soldier will do the same [031]. Remember that in order to call a family member you whistle, by pressing "V". Drive to the target marked on the map - try not to run anyone over to not have any witnesses calling the police. After you arrive [032] get out of the car and go into the Sweet Life Bakery.

At the back of the bakery you will find a guard [033]. Talk to him. Because he doesn't understand your arguments, beat him up a bit (look at his health bar, you just need to cross the first red line). After some hits talk to him again and notice that he changed his mind. Enter the place and go downstairs to meet the owner of this Business (green X on the map). But before that, you have to beat his men [034]. During such a situation, an icon representing the Business type along with the strength of the attacking and defending team will appear on the right side of the screen. In this case you will have to deal with four guards, who won't pose too much of a threat.

After you take care of them [035] go to the owner and talk to him [036].

Because he doesn't want to come to an agreement, you have to find his weak point - as Michael said before, everyone has got one. This time you just have to catch and just hit him a couple of times [037]. This time you just have to catch and just hit him a couple of times. Remember that during extortions you must cross line for someone to start to cooperate [038] (red line). Once you cross it you can continue to earn more money. Just remember that later a second red line may appear and if you cross the person will start to resist you and you won't be able to cooperate with him, so don't let that happen. At the same time, keep an eye on the red meter showing health. If you hit someone too hard you will kill him, and there will be no chances of taking over the Business. After a couple of hours he will come back, but during this time the Business will be closed, so there will be no benefits for the new owner.

After taking over the Business you will be told, that you haven't assigned any guards. Press "Tab" and set two [039], or three guards. If your rivals would want to take over one of your places, a message will appear and you will be able to quickly react and go aid the guards in defending the Business.

 

Objective: Talk to Frank Pentangeli

Exit the place and talk to Frank who is waiting for you by the door [040].
