Raven

The raven doesn't pose a direct threat, but his croaking can attract more formidable creatures. Once you spot a raven, make sure you approach it immediately and swing your stick at it. It will spare you an unscheduled date with a wolf, or a boar.

Snake

Snakes are generally passive in The Flame, and don't attack until Scout gets really close. Otherwise they pay no attention to her as long as she doesn't use the torch, in which case they will start crawling towards her, so make sure there are none around before you light up the torch.

Boar

Meeting the boar isn't always a dreadful experience - if you have learned to dodge its attacks. If a boar is after you, it will stop for a moment to prepare a charge. Remember that boars in this game attack only along a straight line - so it's enough to just get out of its way. Boars can also be deterred by the fire (bonfires or a torch), and swinging the stick. Later on in the game, you can also shoot them with a bow. Boars' attention can be drawn by a live or poisonedbait.

If its charge will reach you, it will most often result in broken bones.

Wolf

The wolf is the most troublesome of all opponents. Constantly follows Scout, and his attacks are unpredictable. You can scare it off with torches and bonfires, and - briefly - by swinging your stick. Later in the game you can as well shoot it with the bow. Its attention can be drawn by a live or poisoned bait.

Successful wolf's attack means injuries that - if not treated - turn into an infection.

Bear

The most powerful and most life-threatening of all opponents. Bears are relatively rare in the world of The Flame in the Flood, but meeting them should only be celebrated with a prompt escape. You can also try to wait until it's killed by another predator. The bear is very fast, you can not scare it with the torch, nor the stick.

Bear attack usually means a fracture, injury or immediate death.
