Assault rifle

An assault rifle is a good alternative to a shotgun, especially if you like taking out targets from a large distance. I would also recommend using this weapon if you don't have a tranquilizer in your possession. One of the missions allows you to collect an experimental assault rifle, however it's very similar to the normal weapon.

Club - Appendix - Basics - part 2 - Appendix - The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Club

A club is a very unique type of a melee weapon. The biggest advantage of using it the possibility of inflicting serious injuries. Sadly this comes at an expense of your movement capabilities. Ignore this weapon if you prefer to deal very swift blows rather than play it out slowly.

Combat knife

It's a good melee weapon you can choose to win some fights, however in most situations you'll strike more blows with the blades.

Drone's gun

This weapon becomes active only when you're playing Assault on Dark Athena campaign. It's a rather powerful gun, but the biggest disadvantage is that you can't take it with you. All you can do is to drag the drone slowly for a better shot.

Grenades

Grenades are a rare find and I wouldn't call them useful. You may try using these objects to defeat larger groups of enemy units, but don't expect miracles.

Knuckleduster

I would only recommend using this weapon if you don't have the blades yet, because otherwise it's useless.

Minigun

This powerful weapon becomes available near the end of the first campaign. The only real advantage of using a minigun is its awesome firepower. As for the biggest problem, you won't be allowed to move too fast while carrying a minigun, so you'll only want to use it to destroy a couple of mechs.

Pistol

Mediocre weapon that you may want to use instead of the blades, however you must acknowledge the fact that you'll be heard by all nearby guards.

Scalpel

Useless melee weapon. I wouldn't recommend exchanging it for a Shiv blade nor any other element of your weaponry.

SCAR rifle

Yet another reason to start playing Assault on Dark Athena. I would recommend that you use this rifle to set up traps for enemy units. Check the main section of my guide on how to win certain battle using a SCAR rifle.

Screwdriver

You'll find a lot of those next to killed workers, however I wouldn't recommend collecting these items, because you won't inflict serious injuries to your opponents.

Shiv blade

This is a very useful melee weapon which you'll want to use during most of the missions in Escape from Butcher Bay. Similar to Ulaks Blades, you can use a Shiv to surprise enemy units, as well as to win direct confrontations.

Shotgun

This is by far the best firearm in the game. Like I've already said a shotgun is the best choice for close combat encounters. You shouldn't have any problems defeating a large group of enemies before you'll be forced to reload this weapon.

Sniper rifle - Appendix - Basics - part 2 - Appendix - The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Sniper rifle

This is a very unique weapon you can obtain while playing Assault on Dark Athena. Sadly getting your hands on it means revisiting certain locations and exploring your surroundings more thoroughly. Here's a full list of steps you must undertake in order to unlock this gun:

Step 9: Once you've reached the Refinery (later on during the game) head on to the first room to your right. The gun can be found on the table.

Tranquilizer gun

This is by far THE MOST USEFUL weapon of both campaigns. I can only say good things about this peace of your arsenal, because it doesn't have any serious limitations. You won't have to worry about running out of ammunition and you'll have plenty of time to finish off stunned opponents. Additionally your attacks won't raise any suspicion among enemy troops. The only situations when you'll want to switch a weapon are heavy firefights and boss challenges.

Ulaks blades - Appendix - Basics - part 2 - Appendix - The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Ulaks blades

This is the most recognizable element of your arsenal in Assault on Dark Athena. I would strongly recommend using the blades whenever you're planning on staying in the shadows and avoiding unwanted attention. Thankfully even when it comes to direct combat you can still count on inflicting major injuries to your opponents.
