The first decision after leaving the camp

After a few days of rest, you will go to Grundar. You will have to make a decision concerning supplies during one of the first days.

  • "Let the hunters hunt" - You let the hunters do their job and you don't get any bonus.
  • "Make a wager who brings back the biggest kill" - It unlocks four more options: 1. Search the ground for any clues, 2. Follow the hunters to the left, 3. Follow the hunters down to the center trail and 4. Take off to the right on your own. 1 and 4 won't give you anything interesting, while 2 and 3 will reward you with morale increase and 10 supplies.
  • "We need to keep moving" - You do not stop, therefore you can't acquire bonus supplies.

The next choice will give you an option to set up a camp. I recommend this, since you will be able to get a couple dozen warriors and use training where you can get some renown points. It is important to choose the "It's our only option" line. When the next choice appears, choose "I don't want to risk running out of food" to begin the training for clansmen, or the "Let's just camp. We'll consider training clansmen later" to set up a camp without training clansmen. The last option - "We need to keep few remaining clansmen moving" prevents you from setting up a camp. So, choosing the last option won't let you train the clansmen and get around a dozen renown points.

To get the renown, you need to complete one objective - use Iver's Battering Ram skill to push an enemy to an area where you have used Oddleif's Rain of Arrows. The best way to do it is to wait as Oddleif until Iver gets behind the enemy's back.

Your caravan will enter the wetland during the next day and you will have to make a choice. "Lead the way" - you follow Ludin. When you choose this option, you will need to decide again:

  • Form a perimeter - there is a cost to it. You will lose 8 Varl, 33 clansmen and 21 warriors.
  • Try to talk the Kragsmen down - The second option will slightly increase your morale.
  • Send Tryggvi forward to parley - The third option will slightly decrease your morale.

Aside from "Lead the way", you can choose "We'll stick to the muddy path we're on". Choosing it will result in a minor drop of morale and will trigger another event, described below.

The next conversation will tell you that someone's son is missing. You will need to choose from several available options. Choosing the first one - "Wait here. Iver and I will find him" will result in a longer stop, which in turn will take some of your supplies and lower your morale.

The first option will unlock another choice. You will have to save the missing boy. The first ("Iver, can you reach them?") and second option ("Extend your bow to the boy") won't cost you anything, while the third one - "Let go of your goat and move this way!" will make the boy die. You will lose one clansman and lower your party's morale.

The second option - "We can't stop but take some gear and get your son" will result in 8 clansmen leaving the caravan and taking 2 units of supplies. Moreover, the caravan's morale will be lowered a bit.

The following event will be a result of your decision shown in the screenshot above. You will have to fight the attackers.

  1. When you choose "Try to talk the kragsmen down", you will have to decide about warfare. The first option will result in a minor morale increase and an opportunity to earn quite a lot of renown in a fight. "We're at war! This isn't the time!" and "Get in formation. We kill them all, like we always do!" - these options will start a fight where you have to fend off the enemy forces. You will lose 98 clansmen, 25 Varl and 51 warriors but you will save over 300 clansmen, acquire around 30 renown points and improve the whole party's morale.
  2. "Okay, Eirik, but this better be worth it" - After you choose "Send tryggvi forward to parley", then "Do what you can so we can ready an attack", you will need to make another decision concerning warfare. If you choose this option, you will lose 98 clansmen, 25 Varl and 51 warriors but you will save over 300 clansmen, acquire around 30 renown points and improve the whole party's morale.

The following days will pass without any problems. You will reach a godstone, where you will have to make a choice.

  • "Aleo, what do you know about Baldringr?" - This option will trigger another choice. If you choose to leave this place, nothing will happen. If you choose the other option - "Grab some fighters and patrol the area", you will have to fight some savages. Victory will give you renown and you will receive an artifact when you leave - Fallows Rebirth. When you start the fight, you will outnumber the enemy, because you will start in a formation that surrounded them.
  • "Search the godstone for any items" - you will not find anything and you'll continue your journey.
  • "Call for a rest nearby" - You will be attacked by savages. The attack is different from the one in the first option. You will be outnumbered by the enemies who will surround you. When you win, you will receive around a dozen renown points and an artifact - Fallows Rebirth.

While going to Grundar, there is a chance that you will encounter a merchant. If you don't have enough supplies, you can buy some (but be sensible). If you do not want to do it, you can decline.

  • "How do you know me?" / "Let me see what you have" - Choosing the first and second option will result in opening the shop where you can buy supplies and browse artifacts.
  • "We don't need anything, thanks" - The last option will make you ignore the merchant. You will continue your journey without seeing the goods.
