On this page of our guide to The Medium, you will find a walkthrough for the 8th stage, Passage to the other side of the mirror. Here we have described all the interactions you need to perform to get to the other side of the mirror. Your main task is to examine specific items. However, you can perform some minor interactions that will help you understand the plot and increase the immersion.
Reach the pool
This sequence will begin after the heroine awakens. For the record, in the previous part, your spirit form fell from the floor. It's time to wake up and continue the adventure.
Your attention will be drawn to the ball, which will make the heroine think about Sadness.
Go to the radio that lies on the reception desk. When you stand by it, you will hear a voice that will give you some information – this starts the next part of the task.
Explore the entire area. You can find an echo and a note here. Next, check the door leading to the living room.
After examining all available items, check out the path leading to the pool. The door will open by itself – you can continue your adventure.
Moving on. Keep moving down the corridor until you reach the exit. You must jump off the floor to get to the drained pool. There you will start the next part of the story.
There are several items near the pool you can examine. You will find several echoes there – we have described them in detail on a separate page of the guide.
Once you have examined them, you can go through the door and continue your journey. You can move the dirt cart right away to make the later parts of the task easier.
Go through the hole in the wall to get to the next part of the building. In this section, you will also find some secrets.
After exploring the room more thoroughly, head to the upper floor. Do this to continue the adventure.
Mirror
Start by checking your reflection in the mirror – the character will talk to her reflection for a while and then want to continue on.
Walk to the end of the corridor and look at the destroyed wall. There are metal cutters lying on the other side. Obtaining them is essential to completing many sections of the story.
After obtaining the cutters, return to the mirror. You will see Sadness – she will guide you.
Use insight to find your way. Sadness will open the door opposite the mirror. Open them and move on.
Go to the toys lying on the boxes and examine the item at the very top. It will lead you to more clues.
Another toy (a dog) is at the bottom of the empty pool. You can examine it only after you have checked the spinning toy upstairs first.
The next toy you need to check is on the left side of the pool. You need to jump out of it and check the teddy bear lying under the plastic crates.
After examining both toys, head to the next part of the pool. Go to the door you've seen before when exploring this area.
The last toy is in front of the hole in the wall, near the lifebelt.
Go through the hole in the wall and turn left. Find a drawing in the green metal cabinet – you are close to solving the puzzle.
The last part is to get to the top. Stand in front of the mirror and switch to your spirit version.
