Use the sight

The sight is an important mechanic in The Medium. You can use it by pressing LB. Thanks to the sight, you will see hidden items, important things for the plot, and many interesting secrets. You must use the sight to detect objects, otherwise, the character will not always understand your intentions.

Carefully examine your surroundings

You can find a lot of interesting objects in The Medium. Some of them are directly related to the plot, others count as secrets, and the rest simply contribute to the game's atmosphere. The important thing, however, is that collecting items not only affects your experience with the game but can also unlock a few achievements. The game has achievements for collecting secrets and a few that are simply about picking up items.

Listen to dialogues

The most important element of the game is its storyline. To follow it, you need to listen to the dialogues – they will also help you with the tasks. Characters often say what they need to do or where they need to go. This can make it faster and more efficient for you to follow the story.

Use the spirit form

Your spiritual form will talk to you at certain points in the plot. You can freely explore the hotel as her and create memories.

Remember, that you can leave your normal form and control the spirit form. However, you can't go too far away – the spirit will start to disappear if you spend too much time outside of your body.

Pay attention to achievements

There are 39 achievements in The Medium. Some of them are directly related to the storyline, while others can only be unlocked at specific moments, such as the Famished Feline achievement. Check the list of achievements to get them all on your first playthrough.

I'm stuck - now what?

If you are stuck, it is worth considering a few things:

1. You must use your sight – it is possible that the solution to the puzzle is impossible to spot with the regular sight. Use special abilities to see things invisible to the naked eye;
2. You need to reset the game – this is rather rare, but it can happen that the game won't load everything after entering a location. We had two such situations when creating this guide. The only solution was to reset the game.
