On this page of our The Medium guide, you will find a description of Jack's apartment, the first stage of the game. We have described all the interactions you need to perform to complete the tasks in Jack's apartment. Your main objective is to find a tie clip. However, you can perform some minor interactions that will help you understand the plot and increase the immersion.
The beginning
Watch an introduction cut-scene during which you will learn how it all started. Then you can listen to the woman, she will talk about her dreams and a little bit about the story.
You will then move to Jack's apartment. You will begin by exploring a small room. You don't have much to find there. You can check the calendar and then head to the next room.
Feed the Cat
Upon entering the kitchen, you may quickly come across the cat's bowl. It stands right next to the refrigerator. You can feed the animal. All you have to do is stand at the counter and grab cat's food. Go back to the bowl and give the cat a meal. The animal will come running for food.
This will unlock an achievement - Famished Feline. You can only get it at this point in the game.

Develop the photo
In Jack's apartment, you will find a darkroom. You can develop photos in it by following a few steps.
It's pretty simple. Take the photo, expose it, and then slowly place it in each solution. You don't have to measure time, but try not to hold the photo too long in any of the liquids.
You can observe the changes that occur in the photo by taking the film out of a given solution. This way you can see how is the photo developing. Once you remove the photo from the last liquid, you won't have to wait or leave it anywhere. The photo can be placed in your inventory.
Tie pin
To find the most important item in this apartment you must go to Jack's room. It is located at the end of the hallway, on the left. You have to remember that without it, you can't move on. You won't be able to leave the apartment until you take it.
The clip is hidden under the clock. This is the first moment in the game when you can use sight to see things invisible to the naked eye. That way you can find the clip and continue your adventure.
Leave the apartment
After getting the tie clip, you can go to the funeral home. All you have to do is leave the apartment and go down the stairs. Make sure you've checked everything, though, because you won't be able to return to this location.
