You can check your relations with other factions at any moment in the game.

There are five main factions in the game which are described below. Most of them are competing with each other - this makes keeping good relations with all of them at once quite difficult to achieve. Reputation will be given to you for nearly half of the quests completed in the game. You will be given positive and negative points, which will then reflect the relation with the faction - you can check it at any moment in the game by going to the player information panel. If the reputation sinks down to a critical, hostile level, enemies from that faction will attack you without warning whenever you get close to them. If you, however, are on friendly terms with a faction (green status in the overview), you can count on more quests associated with a given group.

Abundance - this is the first faction you will be dealing with. This is a military-oriented group, with headquarters located in The Exchange and commanded by captain Eliza Major. You will be forced to work for them at the beginning of the game, and that work can negatively affect your Karma. You don't have to pay attention to those quests, as ultimately the Abundance will become your enemy, regardless of your relations with them. Because of that, during the first chapter in Ophir you should be trying to improve relations with the Vory faction - they will appear in other chapters as well, while the Abundance sporadically.

Vory - the second main faction located in Ophir, composed mainly of criminals and cutthroats. Their headquarters is located in The Slums and they are commanded by Anton Rogue. You will be able to complete a series of side quests for them during the first and other chapters, but only after you've gained at least partial favor with the faction (see the walkthrough chapters of this guide for quests that increase relations with Vory). If you won't be able to maintain friendly relations with them, groups of bandits will attack you in the Slums without warning.

Noctis - a faction composed of traders, located in the hidden city of Karawanserai (Noctis), governed by prince Dandolo. You will meet them during the second chapter and you won't have much choice - you will be forced to work for them, meaning that you won't have a completely negative reputation with them. Before entering the hidden city the faction won't appear in the stats and you won't have a way of influencing the relations with them.

Army - they are closely associated with the Abundance, but they aren't completely under their command. Try to complete quests for them and for the Abundance (gained from, for instance, the Quartermaster) in a peaceful manner. You won't get information about positive / negative effects associated with the relation with the Army and you won't be completing any special quests for them -you can ignore that registry in the stats completely.

Free Mutants - during the third chapter you will arrive at the city of mutants. During your journey before that you will have numerous chances to help various mutants. This in turn will give you some additional (positive) relation points with the faction, allowing you to move around the Mutant Valley freely and gain access to more side quests.

Opposition - similarly to the Free Mutants you won't have much direct contact with this faction, as they are a "hidden" faction. However, you should try to gain some relation points with them, which is possible during the first chapter.
