Your anti-tank units have the task to destroy armored troops. They use their weapons with high armor penetration to destroying enemy tanks, armored vehicles, combat vehicles, etc. Most anti-tank units can perfectly hide from the enemy and keep destroying units until they are detected. Units in this category vary in price and practicality, but, as a rule, it is worth having a few of these units on the battlefield, especially during the defense of your territories. There are several types of such units:
This unit is your main weapon against enemy armored vehicles. These cannons are cheap, easy to hide and have great range, often between 1,000 and 2,000 meters. They can be located in forests, buildings or fortified posts (gun pit). You can choose from various calibers, where the largest can often deal with almost any enemy.
The disadvantage of these guns is the lack of armor and they are placed in the "soft" category. Each gun has a crew, expressed in the number of soldiers, just like infantry units. This means that tanks, grenade launchers, mortars, artillery fire or bombing can quickly suppress them and make them unable to participate in the battle for a certain period. The easiest way to get rid of anti-tank guns is to pin them down or attack with infantry. On the other hand, a large number of such units have access to both AP and HE ammunition, so they can still pose a danger to the infantry. Many types of guns also have APCR ammunition, which can quickly deal with stronger enemy tanks, but the amount of this ammunition is limited.
A wise move is to place the guns in such a way so they can watch over a large number of areas, important roads, entrances and exits from the city and bridges. If you have a lot of weak guns, set them in different positions to make it easier to eliminate enemy tanks with crossfire.
This is a small infantry unit, equipped with armor-piercing guns or anti-tank rifles. Their primary task is to fight armored vehicles. This is a cheap solution if you can't afford a tank destroyer, or need to patch a few holes in your defense before the enemy attacks you with its vehicles. Due to their short range and high concealment rates, these troops are ideal for ambushes. Such teams usually consist of two people - this means that they are easy to hide. However, you can lose them quickly, too. In addition, because of its size, it can't push the front line.
This type of vehicle is an anti-tank gun on tracks. Their task is to destroy stronger enemies, mostly medium and heavy tanks. They can fight infantry and vehicles, but this is not their main task. Like most vehicles, they can't hide very well and have poor optics (though there are exceptions). Because of their mobility, they are great for keeping up the pace with your main battle group consisting of tanks and armored personnel carriers. Regular guns can't move so fast and they are vulnerable to almost every attack. Some tank destroyers are a combination of tank chassis and have a cannon with a little more protection for the crew. Due to the lack of a built-in turret, they are more vulnerable, especially due to the lack of armor at the top of the vehicle. These machines are enclosed and have full armor, but can only shoot straight. The whole vehicle must be turned towards the enemy to shoot. Usually, such vehicles have strong armor and powerful cannons.
