Mission 16 - Purification | Achievements - Legacy of the Void SC II: Legacy of the Void Guide

Last update: 11 May 2016

Purification. Requires you to complete the mission on any difficulty level.

Don't Taze Me Cybros. Don't let the purifier core matrix lose its entire shield. In other words, build turrets around it and keep nearby a small group of units as support.

Power Overwhelming. Activate two purifiers group in less than 60 seconds between them while playing on normal difficulty level. Select two purifiers groups. Destroy two related null circuits per each group. Then split the army, position both groups near the two remaining null circuits and attack them simultaneously. At the same time clear the area of enemies, so that lesser armies will be able to destroy both null circuits. Considering the closeness of the base and the weakness of enemy forces, the achievement is best to be obtained on circuits from sets [A] and [B].

Monster Hunter. Kill five hybrid Behemoths in less than 15 minutes on hard difficulty level. This challenge requires some contriving from you. You must have access to the mothership. Select chrono surge, reconstruction beam, deploy Fenix and orbital assimilation as skills. As for other two, purifier beam and orbital strike will be enough. Shield recharge must be at maximum level. Start the mission with building the stargate and creating probes. Always produce at least one. Move all your units under the purifier core matrix and build the pylon in the selected location. Use chrono surge as fast as you can to create maximum number of probes. Quickly building refineries on two other gas sources is important as well. Now you need only the fleet beacon. Once you place all buildings, gather 1000 minerals and 1000 gas and start building the mothership. Invest the remaining resources into forge and into turrets near the purifier core matrix and on the eastern side of the base. When you can, use chrono surge to speed up building the mothership.

Send completed ship towards the null circuits from set A. Remember about using the teleportation frequently, this will allow you to save precious seconds and remember about that the mothership is attacking while it is moving. One attack will be enough to destroy most units, two to destroy turret. Kill only units and buildings that can threaten you, ignore the rest. Focus on destroying the null circuits.

Move north after destroying set A. Save the game before that and save the game also after the next battles. Allies summoned by you will kill the first hybrid. Bypass the [6] and fly straight at zerg base in [3]. Near the entrance you will find the second hybrid. Carefully attack it, summon Fenix in case of trouble.

Fly immediately east after the battle. Ignore the null circuits from set B and fly towards the base [4]. In the meantime, watch out for the defense of purifier core matrix. You can also upgrade the shields of your units, this will be very useful for the mothership. Kill the third hybrid in the base [4]. If the mothership was heavily damaged, wait few moments for the reconstruction beam to repair some of the damage.

Now fly southwest, towards the core matrix [1]. Turn south from there and destroy all null circuits from set D. You can also ignore them and fly from [1] to the base [5] where in the entrance you will find the fourth hybrid. The last one will attack the purifier core matrix [1] during the 13 minute of the game. If you have done everything correctly, before the fifteenth minute you should have killed all five required hybrids - one or two killed by the allies and three or four killed by the mothership. The only thing remaining to do is to complete the mission, the mothership will be more than enough to do it.
