When you hide behind a wall and use the third person perspective, you will be able to see what is behind a cover. - Battlefront 2: Tips and advise - Tips and advise - Star Wars Battlefront 2 Game Guide
When you hide behind a wall and use the third person perspective, you will be able to see what is behind a cover.
  1. You can choose from first and third person perspective. If you want to be better than the rest then you should learn to switch between them frequently. The first-person perspective is better for battles that take place in huge open areas because you will be able to aim with ease (and use scopes of your blaster). The third person perspective mode allows you to see what happens behind your cover - you can wait near a corner and see whether your enemy is coming or not.
Each weapon has a unique bar - the width and placement of the colored fields are different - Battlefront 2: Tips and advise - Tips and advise - Star Wars Battlefront 2 Game Guide

Each weapon has a unique bar - the width and placement of the colored fields are different.

  1. Automatic weapons can overheat. Each one of them has a certain number of shots. If you want to keep firing but your weapon didn't overheat, you must reload it. However, if your weapon is overheated, you can see a cooling bar for your weapon displayed on the screen. There are two critical parts, yellow/blue sectors that are on the red bar. Press shoot/reload button when the indicator is on the blue sector - your weapon will be cooled immediately and ready to work. If you do that in the yellow sector then you will receive a temporary bonus that protects your weapon from overheating. Stopping on the red bar means that you will have to wait a little bit longer until your weapon can be used again.
  2. Use your abilities frequently. Don't try to save grenades, additional weapons and gadgets. Try to learn how to use them as quickly as possible: see how effective your grenades are, how much time do you need to switch to your additional weapon - these elements will allow you to be ahead of other beginners. It should also be mentioned that grenades usually cause a majority of kills on big maps.
  3. Learn to play as different classes/change your weapons during fights. The fights in Galactic Assault change after each stage (three in total) and they end in narrow corridors and rooms. When that happens you should then, e.g. switch from a Specialist to an Assault to increase your combat effectiveness.
  4. Aim at heads and backs. Enemies in Battlefront 2 suffer the most amount of damage when they are shot in a head and almost twice the damage when you approach them from behind and shoot them in their backs. When it comes to machines like AT-ST you should aim at the back of the cockpit. When you are facing huge story-related vehicles, such as MTT / AT-AT, you must find their energy tanks that are usually located on the lower part or in the bottom of a vehicle.

You can use dodges to avoid sniper shots - sometimes, you can get a chance to see a light reflecting off of a sniper scope before enemy takes a shot.
  1. Dodges. All good players use dodges. They can be performed in all directions by both heroes and regular troops. This allows you to confuse your enemy which, in turn, makes you harder to aim at. You can also use them to hide behind a cover when your health is low or to mislead your enemy by rolling behind them.
A respawn in a full team is instant. You also get 2x points for completing goals and kills with your team. - Battlefront 2: Tips and advise - Tips and advise - Star Wars Battlefront 2 Game Guide
A respawn in a full team is instant. You also get 2x points for completing goals and kills with your team.
  1. Be a team player and complete mission objectives. High kill ration means nothing when your team is about to lose a match. You can also notice that when you respawn on a team and stick with people with which you appeared on the map (units marked yellow on the radar), you will receive 2x battle points. This also removes the need to wait a certain amount of time for a respawn.
  2. Use environment. Both console players and those who have weaker PC can see full vegetation. This means that hiding in grass and bushes can give you an advantage. Hiding in dark backstreets works great too.
  3. Use sprint with cautious - when you are surprised by an enemy, you must wait about a second before you "stop" and be able to take a shot. Sprinting also makes you visible on the enemy radars.
  4. Remember to use "blind fire". If a fight takes place in a forest and you predict where your enemies may be hiding then try to shoot through leaves and grass - usually, you will hit someone who didn't expect an attack and they won't counterattack.
  5. Use your ears. Using headphones is a good idea because you will be able to identify from where enemy steps are coming. If you don't see any enemy units nor a red danger area on your radar then this can mean that an enemy can used an ability that makes them undetectable by radars (this ability can be used by, e.g. a Specialist).
  6. If you feel confident in your driving skills - use vehicles frequently. This is a great way to support your team even when you are only serving as a distraction. General rule: tanks and walkers are used mostly against infantry and the best way to get rid of those machines is to use flying vehicles. The flying machines are also usually used to complete the first objectives in Galactic Assault mode.
  7. Use melee attacks with your weapon. They aren't really effective unless you approach someone from behind and want to eliminate them stealthy (remember that you can still be noticed by players who play in third person perspective). A regular troop usually loses about 40-50% of their health and a melee attack can stun an enemy for a brief moment. You should hit your enemies 2-3 times in a row but the best way to use melee attacks is to finish off your enemies (when, e.g. they overheated their weapon and are near you).
  8. Shoot and throw. Develop this habit for medium distance fights - have a brief gunfight with your enemy, wait for them to hide behind a cover and throw a grenade at them immediately. Usually, enemies wait for you to come closer or they want to regenerate their health instead of running away.
  9. Use Vanguard and Infiltration abilities right after start of a round. Use them right after a match in Strike or Galactic Assault starts to increase your speed. Many players forget about that - you can often be the first one who arrives at a destination and starts defending a point instead of recapturing it.
  10. Crouch when you shoot. The trick from other games works here as well. Crouch to reduce weapon's recoil and increase its stability. Do that especially when you use a sniper rifle.
  11. Try to mislead your enemies when you are using a suppressing fire. When, e.g. you defend an entrance and you use suppressive fire, you can stop for a moment to mislead your enemies - let them think that you ran out of ammo. This trick is very simple but it works most of the time.
  12. Cannons can be treacherous. Many players place them near spots that they defend. Sometimes, it is better to destroy those cannons - they explode and will hurt everyone around them, including its owner's team.
