While exploring the Shattered Moon in Star Wars Jedi Survivor, you will reach the Republic Research Laboratory area, where there is a blocked black passage. This page of the guide explains how to obtain the orb and how to transfer it to the orb amplifier, as well as how to use Koboh Matter to get rid of the blockade.
Reaching the Republic Research Laboratory on the Shattered Moon
The Republic Research Laboratory is a vast location on the Shattered Moon. You visit it for the first time in the main story when pursuing Rayvis.
In the laboratory area you can find a passage blocked by a black substance, as well as an inactive orb amplifier. Your first task will become to deliver the orb to it.
Solving the Orb Amplifier puzzle
Turn around and you'll notice an orb amplifier behind a large cracked glass wall. There is an orb in it that you can grab by using Force Pull.
Go as far to the left as possible and throw the orb towards the second inclined platform - we marked it in the picture.
Quickly run to the room on the right. The orb you threw will roll and you must grab it again before it falls into the abyss. If you did not make it in time, the orb will "respawn" at the orb amplifier.
You can now place the orb in the orb amplifier at which you started the puzzle. A stream of energy will appear and burn out the nearby circular passage.
Head to the new room. Activate BD-1 mode (down on the d-pad) to begin to spray Koboh Matter (R2/RT). Create a connection between the right black block and the energy stream. The passage will be set on fire and this will allow you to proceed.
