Star Wars Jedi Survivor: Are there AI companions in the game? Star Wars Jedi Survivor guide

From our guide you will learn whether other companions besides BD-1 appear in Star Wars Jedi Survivor. We explain whether it is possible to use the help of allies and give commands to companions (attacking enemies, passing puzzles).

Last update: 23 April 2023

Jedi Survivor is a single-player game, and you may be interested in whether you can find AI-controlled companions. Our guide explains whether there are other companions except for the BD-1 droid in the game and whether is it possible to give commands to companions, for example, to attack enemies and solve environmental puzzles.

Traveling with BD-1

BD-1 is Cal's friendly droid, which you may already know from Jedi Fallen Order - Star Wars Jedi Survivor: Are there AI companions in the game? - Plot and characters - Star Wars Jedi Survivor guide

BD-1 is Cal's friendly droid, which you may already know from Jedi Fallen Order. With a few exceptions related to the events in the main storyline, it accompanies the protagonist throughout the game. BD-1 can:

  1. carry stims used for healing - throughout the game, you can gradually increase their number; they also renew during rest;
  2. help in solving puzzles and unlocking passages - BD-1 can interact with selected objects from the environment (terminals, doors, etc.) and open or hack them.

The game allows you to modify the appearance of BD-1. You can find or buy its components and then install them in workshops. These are purely cosmetic changes.

Full-fledged companions

Select missions in the game also feature full-fledged companions controlled by artificial intelligence - Star Wars Jedi Survivor: Are there AI companions in the game? - Plot and characters - Star Wars Jedi Survivor guide

Select missions in the game also feature full-fledged companions controlled by artificial intelligence. The first such ally is Bode, who will help you cross Level 2046 to Coruscant (the first location in the game).

Companions don't stay with Cal throughout the game. You will separate after advancing in the game, and you will return to playing the game alone (except for BD-1 attached to the protagonist). Allies can appear on board the Mantis or, for example, in the cantina in Koboh.

In the Basics chapter, you will find a Companion list page with information on where to encounter allies and what are their skills.

Companions' assistance during the game

Companions are able to automatically help Cal win battles, but you can also order them to target specific enemies - Star Wars Jedi Survivor: Are there AI companions in the game? - Plot and characters - Star Wars Jedi Survivor guide

Companions are able to automatically help Cal win battles, but you can also order them to target specific enemies. By default, this is possible using the R1 square / RB X button combination. Depending on the current companion, they can, for example, temporarily immobilize the enemy to make him an easier target.

You don't have to heal your allies or protect them. They will manage without your support, so focus only on the protagonist's health bar.

Companions can also help you with exploration and environmental puzzles - Star Wars Jedi Survivor: Are there AI companions in the game? - Plot and characters - Star Wars Jedi Survivor guide

Companions can also help you with exploration and environmental puzzles. Look around for interactive spots where R1/RB button icons appear. Your companion will automatically perform a given support action and can, for example, push an object or create a new climbing point for Cal.
