Sgt. Byrd's Base is the second level in Spyro: Year of The Dragon, in which you will not be controlling Spyro himself. Below you will find the Walkthrough of said level.
How to get 100% completion in this level?
Reaching 100% completion on the Sgt. Byrd's Base level will require you to meet the following conditions:
- Collect 500 gems
- Find 3 Dragon Eggs
You start the level by talking with a hummingbird that will explain the current situation. It will also ask you for an escort. First, head right into a small corridor. There you will find another hummingbird which will give you an egg in return for its rescue. Afterwards, fly upwards, over the entrance. There is another corridor there, which will take you further into the level.
Use the rocket launchers to eliminate any Rhynocs you encounter. At some point, you will reach a room in the middle of which there will be a chest. There is a corridor beneath this room, leading to the next hummingbird. In order to open the passage, you need to get some bombs. You will find them at the final stage of the level.
Continue your journey through the corridors, gradually clearing them of the Rhynocs. At the moment when you reach the caves, you will receive the first egg. To open the passage, you will have to move two heavy loads onto the trapdoors. However, before you do this, be sure to eliminate all of the Rhynocs in the area. Do not forget to collect all of the gems and to free the hummingbird.
When you go through the gate you will reach the next part of the cave. There you will have to overcome the Rhynocs yet again. After the fight, you will be able to collect gems and then fly out onto a large glade. Clear the main part of it in order to get the next egg.
At this stage, you only have to finish collecting gems from all of the nooks and crannies adjacent to the final location. You must also make sure to release any hummingbirds that remain captive. You will find one of them next to the passage through which you got here. The last one is in a cave on the opposite side of the glade.
