The holo drone will be unlocked while completing the 6th main mission - Harlem trains out of service. You can find information about it along with possible upgrades for purchase in the 3rd tab after pressing the touchpad.
During gameplay, hold R1 to open the gadget wheel, then use the left analog stick to select 1 of the 4 available devices.
Press R1 to activate the gadget and produce hard light holograms to help you in battle.
With the activity tokens you earn and the parts you collect, you can buy 4 modifications:
Tough Drone
Requirements:
- level 7
- 8 activity tokens
Increases the damage dealt by the holo-drone.
Increased Capacity
Requirements:
- level 8
- 10 activity tokens
Increases the maximum holo-drone supply by 1.
Battery Life
Requirements:
- level 9
- 12 activity tokens
- 1 part
Increases holo-drone uptime.
Fatal Exception
Requirements:
- level 25
- 16 activity tokens
- 2 parts
- Starting a New Game
When the holo-drone is deactivated, there is an explosion that knocks the enemies away.
