Access to fresh water

The first criterion to consider when building a base is the immediate vicinity of a fresh water reservoir. By building a shelter on a river or lake, you gain instant access to fish, which you can treat as basic food. The ability to quickly quench thirst and fill the flask is also an invaluable advantage.

Flat land near the forest

If you plan to create an extensive base, it is important to choose a place with as much flat terrain as possible. Building structures on slopes and too sloping hills is difficult and troublesome.

Constructions that need logs require you to cut down a lot of trees. It is worth making sure that there is a dense forest near the base. Thanks to this, you can save time on transporting materials necessary for construction.

Natural barriers

It is worth using the terrain as a natural barrier against enemy attacks. Opponents cannot climb cliffs or swim, so the base near a deep water reservoir allows you to quickly escape to a safe place.

The proximity of game

Before choosing a location for the base, it is worth looking around and checking if there are any cannibal camps nearby. If the shelter is too close to the enemy's base, their attacks will be more frequent and more severe, especially if several such camps are within close proximity to each other.
