The U-boat base from mission 8 (Rubble and Ruins) of Sniper Elite 5 has a hidden entrance in the sewers - the walkthrough from our guide will tell you how to get to the sewers and how to avoid snipers and tank.

The first part of Mission 8 of Sniper Elite 5 involves reaching a sewer entrance in order to successfully infiltrate the Kraken base. In our walkthrough, you can find where the sewer entrance is, as well as how to deal with elite snipers and a tank while traversing the ruined Saint Nazaire.
Find the sewers entrance
As the Mission 8 starts, you don't have the location of the u-boot base. You can look for intelligence data that will help you locate it, or you can head straight to the park in the north-eastern part of the map , south of the base .
Throughout the mission, look for opportunities to sabotage the generators and thus create noise zones for safe firing. The shots are also silenced when there are airplanes flying overhead. Additionally, you can of course use silenced weapons.
The initial journey through the destroyed city is linear, but ultimately you have to go through a building with a resistance member from whom you will learn about the sewers. Get rid of the boards blocking the further passage (using a crowbar which you've found earlier, but it is not obligatory).
You will reach the main part of the map and the game will allow you to travel freely around most of the city. The U-boot base in the north-eastern part of the map cannot be accessed from the ground level and you need to infiltrate it through the sewers.
Along the way, watch out and take care of enemies if necessary. Pay attention to your radar in case of narrow pathways and interiors of ruined buildings.
You should watch out for elite snipers . Most of them are located on the upper floors of certain buildings, and there is one that has its nest in the church tower. Make use of your binoculars to check the area before you. Also, never travel in the open.
You can approach the park from any side, but it will be safer to reach it from the south. You can easily get rid of some of the enemies in the park, e.g. by climbing the church tower (southern part of the map) and shooting them from a long distance.
Watch out for a sniper in the tower northeast of the park. He is busy observing the area and it is best to kill him with a long shot.
The park is patrolled by a tank . If you plan to destroy it, you can, among others, visit the church crypt and collect explosives, or look for a panzerfaust chest in the park. Remember to aim at the exhausts of the tank and the "hidden" weak point of the machine behind them.
You can just as well avoid the tank - sneak when it goes the other way and use the nearby walls and trenches as a cover.
Your task is to locate the entrance to the sewers - it is shown in the pictures above and it is in the northern part of the park.
Entering the sewers serve as a Point of No Return. Make a manual save before entering and if you want, take care of optional objectives beforehand (incl. church side quest, and a Kill List Target in the town hall)

The passage through the sewers is largely linear and there are no enemies in the area . On your way you will come across a closed passage, but you don't have to blow it up, because you can use the side path (there are some optional collectibles in the sewers).
