The final part of mission 6 (Liberation) in Sniper Elite 5 tasks you with destroying a barricade in the northern town and facing a Tiger tank. Our walkthrough explains how to blow up the barricade, weaken the Tiger and destroy the giant tank.
Investigate the town
You can reach the northern town from any direction. You no longer need to worry about running into any snipers. There are regular enemies in the town you can eliminate from a distance.
There's a barricade there you must destroy. Before you deal with it, try to eliminate the enemies on the other side. You can easily do so by shooting from the upper floors of the nearby buildings.
You must attach explosives to the barricade to destroy it. Then reach the marked detonator to blow up the barricade. This, unfortunately, spawns a hostile Tiger tank.
Destroy the Tiger Tank
The Tiger tank is extremely durable compared to the tanks encountered before. You should prepare for a long fight.
You'll find your first Panzerfaust near to where you use the detonator (you'll find more in the buildings surrounding the Tiger). Take it and approach the bridge where the destroyed barricade was.
Try not to alert the tank crew or the nearby soldiers. Wait for the Tiger to completely back off and hide behind a wall of the building on the right. Quickly cross the bridge, avoid the remains of the barricade and turn right.
Position yourself so that you can see the tank. Wait for the tank's rear to face the buildings on the right. Once it does, fire the Panzerfaust at its tracks to immobilize it.
Reach the upper floor of the building on the right and grab the second Panzerfaust. Position yourself next to the window and fire at the tank's exhaust.
The second direct hit will most likely still not be enough to destroy the Tiger. You can look for yet another Panzerfaust, grab the PzB Anti Tank from the area or switch to a rifle with anti-tank rounds.
Aim for the weak spot by the destroyed exhaust. A single direct hit with an anti tank round should destroy the Tiger.
If the tank detects you at any point, make sure to move away from the wall or window where they saw you. The tank can fire at you with a machine gun and the main gun, which means you must get out of its firing range. Fortunately, the buildings are indestructible and won't collapse no matter how many times they get shot.
You don't need to restart the mission if you're spotted - the tank will soon lose sight of you.
