Summary | Sauron's Army (Nemesis System) Middle-earth: SoM Guide

Last update: 11 May 2016

As you have probably noted already, the Nemesis System is a very complex game system, one that may make the game much more attractive, and influence the course of the game itself (e.g. thanks to obtaining runes of higher statistics). Below, I have listed the most important issues connected with the Sauron's Army:

  • Try to take advantage of each opportunity to learn about the members of the Sauron's Army (interrogating the enemies with green icons, finding intelligence data, talking to the outcasts), thanks to which you will identify them, and learn both their strong and weak points.
  • Before you attack a Captain or a Warchief of the Sauron's Army, make sure that you have learned about his description in the menu of the army. Thanks to this, you will be able to plan on your attack and exploit the opponent's weaknesses, and prevent him from proving his strong ones (e.g. resistance to a certain type of attacks). The same goes for the exploration of the area - you may be able to spot a perfect location to launch your surprise attack from, or to distract the rest of enemies.
  • Do not worry if you die during the first, or even the second encounter with a given Captain or Warchief. Dying on purpose may even be recommended, because thanks to this, the given member of the Sauron's Army gains in strength. Try to attack Captains and Warchiefs to kill them, only if their power parameter exceeds, discernibly, 10 points. This will increase the odds of obtaining one of the epic runes, after he dies.
  • While planning attacks on the Warchiefs, remember that you first need to get prepared. Additionally, try to lure them away from the rest of the enemies, because they are often accompanied by Captains that perform the role of bodyguards. Fighting more than one member of the Sauron's Army is RECOMMENDED AGAINST because it is easy to lose then..
  • You do not need to kill all of the enemies that accompany the Captain or the Warchief, before you focus on the main opponent. What is even more, if the weakness of a given orc are stealth executions, you can eliminate him with a single surprise attack, without the necessity to fight a battle against him.
