Many dangers that await the main hero of Seven: The Days Long Gone and one of the more troublesome ones is the fact that some enemies don't stay dead. They can be "replaced" by new ones who can be a hindrance when you want to explore the same location again. Below, you can find the most important information about this topic as well as our tips that can help you deal with this problem.

The most important thing to know is that not every enemy respawns. This process works like this:

  1. Unique NPCs (those who have names and are connected to quests) won't respawn and will stay dead till the end of the game.
  2. Enemies connected to random encounters (e.g. bandits who hide near roads or bounty hunters who want to ambush Teriel in certain places) shouldn't respawn. Killing them once should guarantee you that a particular location will remain safe.
  3. Guards in bases, checkpoints and various restricted areas usually respawn.
  4. Nameless bandits/cultists etc. from camps and other similar locations almost always respawn. The exception to that are unique, quest-related enemies.
  5. Monsters and wild animals will almost always respawn. The exception to that are unique, quest-related creatures.

How to deal with the problem of respawning enemies? Here are some tips:

  1. Attack enemies only when this is necessary to complete a quest or when you want to get valuable items that belong to them (although you can still rely on pickpocketing). Otherwise, avoid them or run away. This can save your time and supplies.
  2. Try to explore each location once so you won't have to visit them again in the later parts of the game and face respawned enemies. The same goes for most of the areas. If a given area (the Mire or the excavation site in Lewmer's cliffs) is connected to a few quests then try to complete them all during one visit.
  3. Don't worry about enemy corpses left in open. In Seven you don't have to worry that much about a possibility of raising an alarm when someone finds a murdered guard. Corpses disappear "by itself" after some time (the only thing that is left is a bag with items that were in the inventory of a murdered person).
  4. Enemy respawns can also be treated as a good thing. If a location has enemies that are easy to kill (single guards are the best) then you can go back to them multiple times. Each successful attack allows you to get a lot of valuable items that you can later sell or dismantle to get crafting materials.
