The earliest moment when you can visit Ashina Depths is after reaching Ashina Castle. However, it is highly recommended to spend some time on unlocking better abilities and increasing stats. Ashina Depths are roamed by strong enemies and bosses - a weaker character may have problems with defeating them.

Start on the left side of the castle, at Ashina Reservoir Sculptor's Idol. Turn left, approach the ledge and use the grappling hook on the tree.
