Saints Row 2022: Cover - can you use? Saints Row Guide, Walkthrough

Fights in Saints Row are intense and you can easily find yourself under fire. Our guide answers the question - whether in the game you can stick to walls and hide behind curtains.

Last update: 01 September 2022

One of the more common questions for Saints Row is whether you can use covers such as walls. This page of the guide focuses on this topic and also tells you what are the main ways to avoid taking damage from enemy attacks.

Crouch

In Saints Row, you won't find the option to automatically hide behind covers after pressing a button or approaching an object - Saints Row 2022: Cover - can you use? - FAQ - Saints Row Guide, Walkthrough

In Saints Row, you won't find the option to automatically hide behind covers after pressing a button or approaching an object. Your character cannot automatically "stick" to walls, cars and other larger objects.

Fortunately, there are a few ways to reduce the risk of losing health. Your character can crouch (down on the d-pad). It's best to use this option when you are next to an obstacle, because the hero moves slower while crouching.

Dodging

The second method is dodging (Circle/B on the controller) - Saints Row 2022: Cover - can you use? - FAQ - Saints Row Guide, Walkthrough

The second method is dodging (Circle/B on the controller). We recommend dodging to the sides. They can save you from losing health mainly during fights with elite opponents with better equipment or stationary machine guns and enemy vehicles.

A universal technique is also staying on the move at all times to make yourself a difficult target to hit.

Police shields

SWAT officers with large shields may appear at higher levels of the police pursuit - Saints Row 2022: Cover - can you use? - FAQ - Saints Row Guide, Walkthrough

SWAT officers with large shields may appear at higher levels of the police pursuit. You have to aim at their heads or, for example, use explosives.

After killing an officer, you can pick up the shield and use it as a mobile cover. Unfortunately, it is not possible to add it to your inventory. You will also have to use a one-handed weapon (e.g. pistols and SMG).
