How to unlock the quest: through conversation with Brian.

Quest giver: Brian (point 20 on the map)

You must swim to this little islet.

In the South-Eastern section of the map, there's a small islet, to which you can effortlessly swim. Start the exploration of the island, eliminating Sand-Devils and Dragon Snappers standing on your way. You should be extra careful when traveling through the North-Easter section of the map, where a Leviathan can be found. If you are not powerful enough, you can run past the beast (note - the beast itself is quite fast) or try to swim away.

Brian can be found in the encampment on the hill.

Ultimately you must reach a small hill, in the central section of the island, where a castaway named Brian can be found (point 20 on the map). At the very beginning of the conversation, it is wise to accept his proposition of trade and give him Cheap Liquor and Provisions for 300 Gold. In the latter part of your meeting, you will learn, that Brian isn't interested to return to society. Instead, you will be asked to find a cave in which Brian can live permanently.

Note - the trading offer given to you by Brian is a one-time only offer. If you don't have the required amount of provisions and / or alcohol, you should acquire those items before you meet with the castaway - otherwise you will miss the chance to earn some easy money.

The cave which Brian dreamed of is located in the Western section of the island (point 20a on the map) (100 Glory Points). Inside the cave you will find 4 Giant Rats, but despite their looks and size, they are of no threat to you. For each rat you kill you will be given 50 Glory Points, and for eliminating all 4 of them you will receive 100 Glory Points. Go back to Brian and tell him about the cave.
