Quest giver: Booze [#1] - The Water Carriers - Tacarigua - Quests - Risen 2: Dark Waters - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Quest giver: Booze [#1]

This quest is part of: Become a Pirate

Visit the pirate tavern and talk to the owner, Booze [#1]. Ask him about Captain Steelbeard and wait until the he mentions trouble with alcohol production. The source of the problem is the lack of basic products required in the production of rum - water and sugar. Both key components stopped being shipped to the distillery, which makes it impossible to function at all. There are two quest associated with reopening the distillery: The Water Carriers and The Sugar Shipment. Here, we'll take care of the former.

Booze will suggest that you talk about it to Curtis [#2], a pirate hanging around in front of the tavern, who is responsible for the deliveries. He will explain that the lack of water is due to the laziness of the carriers, and then ask you to send one of those lazybones to change guard at the camp's front gate. Note! If you ignore the chat with Curtis, nothing bad will happen. Despite your lack of information, the quest will proceed according to the following scenario.

Curtis will give you clues as to how to complete the quest, but in truth you don't have to talk to him at all. - The Water Carriers - Tacarigua - Quests - Risen 2: Dark Waters - Game Guide and Walkthrough
Curtis will give you clues as to how to complete the quest, but in truth you don't have to talk to him at all.

Time to take care of the carriers. Head west to the waterfall [#3] from where the water necessary in rum production is taken. When you reach the place, you'll learn very quickly why the water deliveries had stopped. Two pirates are to blame - Dogss and Foster - who, instead of working, keep arguing with each other.

You won't achieve anything by trying to talk to them, so talk to Colby instead - the only person of the three not engaged in the conflict. He will tell you that the two gentlemen are fighting over who is going to change Fence [#4], the guard keeping an eye on the camp's entrance. If you want to reestablish the water deliveries, you need to resolve the conflict. Finish the conversation with Colby and talk to either of the pirates. You'll have three options:

  • If you choose Doggs, he will go straight towards the gate and the quest will be completed.
  • If you choose Foster, he will go straight towards the gate and the quest will be completed.
  • If you decide it's Colby who deserves a break at the gate, the two arguing pirates will try to prevent it at any cost.

It's your decision who should change Foster at the post. Colby deserves it the most. - The Water Carriers - Tacarigua - Quests - Risen 2: Dark Waters - Game Guide and Walkthrough
It's your decision who should change Foster at the post. Colby deserves it the most.

Dogss and Foster will agree to the third solution only on one condition - you'll have to defeat them in battle first. Which one you choose to fight first doesn't matter - you have to teach both of them a lesson anyway. This opens two additional quests: Fight Doggs and Fight Foster. When you manage to humble both pirates, which shouldn't be difficult, talk to Colby again to tell him the good news.

Two things to sum up:

  • No matter how you resolve the problem with the water carriers, brag about it to Curtis, Booze and Fence. The second one will reward you with a bottle of Rum, while the third will give you 25 Glory points, but only if you sent Colby to change him at the gate.
  • Despite the fact that this quest is part of the Become a Pirate missions, Steelbeard [#5] won't be interested in hearing about reestablishing the water deliveries. Consequently, it won't build your reputation with the Captain.

Rewards:

  • 100 Glory points for completing the quest;
  • 25 Glory points for informing Fence about the completion of the quest (Colby only);
  • Bloody Mary for completing the quest (Colby only);
  • Bottle of Rum for informing Booze about the completion of the quest.
