The final part of Return to Monkey Island involves opening the chest containing the Secret of Monkey Island. Our walkthrough will explain how to get access to the contents of the chest. Moreover, we show the available endings (if there is more than one) and additional content unlocked after completing the game.
Opening the chest and finding the Secret
You will find yourself in an alley-like location at the back of the High Street on Melee Island. Use the pathway to get back to High Street.
Stan will give you a Key Ring .
You can use the keys to disable Power Switches . These will allow you to cut power to next areas of the mock-up.
Optionally, you can also interact with characters appearing here e.g. Otis and LeChuck.
Take a look to the left side to pick upKey held by Wally.
Use the key on Stan's Gaudy Chest . You will find a unique item in it.
Turn off the last light, the one with LeChuck.
Conversation with Elaine
Ultimately, you have to go right and talk to Elaine . You can exhaust all dialogue options or choose the one to leave this place right away.
Ending
All that's left for you to do is watch the finale of the story Guybrush's is telling to Boybrush . There is only 1 ending to the game and the selected dialogue options in the final moments will not change it.
After viewing the credits and returning to the main menu, you can reopen the Scrapbook album . A sealed letter will appear on its penultimate page. You can break the seal and read it.
