One of the tasks in Chapter 4 of Return to Monkey Island involves getting golden keys, and Widey's Golden Key is one of them. Our walkthrough will show you where to meet Widey on Melee Island and how to retrieve the golden key stolen by Iron Rose.
Meetings with Widey Bones
Widey Bones is an old woman living on Melee Island . You've met her during Chapter 1. During Chapter 4, you'll meet her automatically after learning of 5 golden keys, which happens after visiting the voodoo shop and finding the safe with 5 keyholes.
Talk to Widey about the keys. The old lady will reveal that she has 1 golden key, but she will be interested in giving it to you only if you get at least 2 other golden keys yourself.
After you have obtained 2 other golden keys, return to High Street on Melee Island and talk to Widey, who is standing in the window on the upper floor. You will learn that her golden key has been stolen . The thief is Iron Rose, a member of LeChuck's crew.
Acquire Widey's stolen golden key
Return to Guybrush's ship and travel to LeChuck's Ship - this time you can board it without being thrown overboard.
Approach Apple Bob, who is on the upper deck, and ask him about Iron Rose.
Now travel to Ship's Hold, i.e. the area where Chapter 2 of the game begun. Look to the left for Chicken Feed .
Use the feed on the Ghost Chicken who is in possession of a golden key - we have marked it in the picture.
Get out of the hold and re-enter it . You can now collect the Golden Key .
