Once you have control over Bennet, go left. After passing a demolished car (Stripped car), you'll stop by a newspaper vending machine (Newspaper vendor - square). Open INV and click RMB on Bennet's wallet. A Credit card will appear in INV - drag it on the Newspaper vendor with the LMB. You'll get a Newspaper.

Go back a little to the right. There are Crumbling bricks in the pile of junk.

Return to the Stripped car and move the Piece of brick from INV on the Car mirror (circle). Pick up the Car mirror from the street.

Again, move right and click on the Bench (arrow) to sit on the bus stop. Open INV and drag the Piece of brick on the Car mirror. A Shard of mirror will appear in INV - move it on the Newspaper. This is how you get an advanced spying equipment Newspaper with mirror. Use RMB on it.

Watching the suspect in the mirror, note down the code (number of knocks: 2 times, 1 time, 3 times).
