On this page of the Resident Evil Village game guide, you will find a walkthrough of how to reach House Beneviento in order to track down the puppet master. The guide below explains when you will be able to head towards House Beneviento and how to reach its basement.
Journey to House Beneviento
Your reason for going to House Beneviento is to find and defeat the puppet master, Donna Beneviento. Donna is one of the four lords in the game and killing her is part of the multi-step main objective of the Collect Rose quest.
You will only be able to set out for the journey after you find the Four-Winged Key during your second visit to the village. Return to the Altar in the village and use the key to open the north gate.
Crossing the mountainous areas is very linear and doesn't involve any monster encounters. The hero will go through the Garden, among other places, although examining the buildings passed on the way (the one to the left of the path and the one on the hill on the right) will not be possible at this stage of the game.
You will also pass Beneviento's Treasure grave along the way , but you can't do anything here at the moment either. Once you pass the grave, you will reach the door showcased in the picture. The Family Photo that the main character has acquired at the end of the prologue will need to be placed in the slot on the right.
Reaching the basement
There is an elevator behind the door and by using it, you will reach the Beneviento House adjacent to the waterfall. You can go through the front door right away, as there are no optional activities to complete in the area.
Exploring the inside of the house isn't required right now - you will also have time to do this once you defeat the boss. In order to progress in the game, locate the elevator that leads to the basement.
Once you reach the basement, you can immediately head down the main corridor, since you will be required to thoroughly examine all of the side rooms in a few moments anyway.
You must reach the room with the doll holding the Flask. Attempting to take the item containing Rose's fragment will result in a black screen and temporarily losing Ethan's equipment. You will be given a new task, the goal of which is to get out of the basement.
