Aside from standard equipment, Leon can increase his chances of survival by equipping Charms, which are unlocked after visiting the first shooting range. On this page of our Resident Evil 4 Remake, we explain Charms - what they do, how to equip them and which ones are the best.
Charms - uses
Charms are pendants that you can place on your attache case. They offer passive bonuses like a bigger chance of crafting extra ammunition, more health restore, more powerful melee attacks etc.
Unlocking Charms
To unlock Charms, you must meet several requirements. The first is visiting a shooting range (the first one is unlocked while in The Quarry). There, you'll find a Token Machine.
To get a Charm, you need to put 3 Silver or Gold tokens in the machine. After a moment, you'll receive a ball with a new Charm. It is worth mentioning that inserting Gold Tokens means a bigger chance of receiving a Charm with a rare bonus.
Tokens can be obtained by completing all shooting range objectives or by buying them from Merchants (Spinels) (later chapters of the game).
How to equip Charms?
Equipping Charms is rather simple - all you have to do is to find a typewriter and interact with it.
Choose Customize Case from the menu. A list will all your available Charms will open. All you have to do now is select the particular Charm you are interested in and assign it to the center, left or right side of the attache case (the placement doesn't matter).

Here is a list of the best Charms. Remember that you cannot simply choose to receive a particular Charm - obtaining them is random. If you want to increase your chances of receiving a rarer Charm, place more Gold Tokens into the machine.
