In Resident Evil 4 Remake, you find many of your weapons through exploration and looting containers, and CQBR Assault Rifle is no exception. On this page of our guide, we show where to find the CQBR Assault Rifle (Castle), how to open the Square Lock Box containing the rifle, and what type of ammunition the CQBR Assault Rifle uses.
Finding the secret CQBR Assault Rifle
The CQBR Assault Rifle is one of the best weapons in the game, but finding it is treated as a secret. Fortunately, this means that you can get it for free rather than buy it from a merchant. The rifle is hidden in the Castle region.
For the purpose of this secret, reach Chapter 9 and the corridor connecting the upper levels of Armory and Grand Hall. Here is where you'll find the Cubic Device - you will need it for the purpose of opening the container with the gun.

Advance to Chapter 10. After regaining control of Leon, return to Library, which you may have explored when playing as Ashley in Chapter 9.
In the southern part of Library, there is a locked Square Lock Box (screenshot). Use Cubic Device to open it.

Once open, the cache with CQBR Assault Rifle will be revealed.
Inventory space and ammunition for CQBR Assault Rifle
It may turn out that you don't have enough space in your inventory to pick up the rifle.
If this happens, you need to free up space through removing, moving, sending to Storage or selling items. The rifle needs a 2x7 slot in the inventory (image).
A big drawback of the CQBR is that it consumes Rifle Ammo, which is the same ammunition used by the SR M1903 rifle (which when scope is installed, is the weapon treated as the sniper rifle) Unfortunately, Rifle Ammo is a rare item and crafting it is much more expensive than other types of ammo. As a result, use CQBR with caution, and aim mainly for single accurate hits.
